For many ROMs that come out, people come out with hacks-parody, retranslations, bug fixes that fixes bugs/goofs in the original games and whatnot. Here are a few:

about:AFirst make sure you have the JAPANESE ROM... and then you need is something to patch it with. (see above)This is the ORIGINAL JAPANESE RELEASE!! There are apparently many things that were left out of the American import! ...and the guy who made it is going to do even more than what is there! (It sounds truely, truely awesome)
Special Notes: As I said above, though it is complete, some revisions are still being made and be aware that many names are different-but sometimes, it's only spelling... like Tina instead of Terra, Lock instead of Locke, Cefca instead of Kefka... ect.

Okay.

This thread can only exist so long as NO ONE PROVIDES THE WHOLE ROM FILE. Discussion of illegal content is not allowed, and while there was a recent exception for emulation, providing links to such content is still not allowed.

As long as we're only linking to the patches, that's fine. Any postings of the FFVI ROM will result in link deletion as well as a warning for illegal content.

Remember, emulation itself is perfectly legal... but the ripping of games isn't. It's a complex little law they've got, and sometimes it's difficult to discern the line of legality and illegality... it's best just to play it safe.

That's all I wanted to say.

Thanks for the reupload. Believe it or not, I was actually thinking about several things on the hack today including adding FFXII elements (I consider FFT, VS, FFTA and FFXII the same "series") as well as changing the title to "FFVI: Ivalice Edition" to reflect the multiple references.

I'm still in that phase where I have to tediously reorganize all the monster graphics, specifically the color palettes to make them all fit together like puzzle pieces. Once i get done, THEN all the fun begins (Monster AI)

Thanks for reminding me I DO have reason to continue this.

EDIT: NOW I remember why I haven't been able to continue this. My now defunct laptop had two important files on it. One was a text file containing all the important Palette data I needed, and the other was slightly more along copy of the hack. When I asked a PC service to backup my laptop's hardrive, somehow these were missing. My laptop's still intact, it's just the screen won't work and I need another external monitor for it to run.

EDIT 2: Files recovered! I've been meaning to do that for a while now.

I've had to restart since I originally played on the Dreamcast via DSnes, and I no longer have my DC.


This time I'm playing on the PC.

Now if only I could find a PC/snes controller....

Just get a PC controller, because most of them are in PSX format, and that in turn is almost the same setup as the SNES controller, unless you really want the authentic SNES feel, in which case, they make converters from SNES->PC, whatever rocks your socks yah know, but, I havent tried this yet, and I wasn't able to get a link before, so, yay *goes and patches 6*
Oh, and programmer sama, aka, Cain, that would be great, man, its great to hear you haven't given up on this awesome thing yet

Well, I went to the thrift store by my house and found a Sidewinder Game Pad for 3 bucks, so i'm just using that. It has a few extra buttons, but I can map them out however I want.
