And yeah, Bralius, I'm not going to try and argue with everyones point, I could have asked if it gets better, but because I was to busy, flying through in my own bad mood, I didn't bother to. But why can't people discuss why they didn't like the game? Or am I only know being told, you can only post if you like the game? I have tried to justify my reasons, I have tried just explain. Dosen't matter. I wasn't expecting everyone to come in and be all, "YAY! We damn hate it too!" Because I knew that other people would have opinions on my opinion. Which of course, is fair enough, like I said, after seing amazing graphics and plots, then going back to something that I didn't think was good, I would really want to carry on with it unless I had too. It would be stupid for me to ask if the plot did get better, because the likely hood is of it, most of you would say yes, but you liked the game anyways, which dosen't nesiccicarly mean that I will enjoy it does it? You win some, you loose some. Obviously, not everyones gonna love the game, and like I said, i'm on of the ones that didn't. I think...that If I were older, and played it when it first came out, imported it or something so could play it on the SNES, I would have appreciated it more, but when you see the contrast, and the develpoment of the story lines and battle plots etc, its offputting.

I didn't have a problem with the graphics. I thought they were just fine. What do you expect from a game that was released many years ago? I don't believe the graphics are the most important part of the game. The storyline and characters are important to me. Final Fantasy VI has a great storyline which I enjoyed very much. I still haven't completed the game but I'll get there one day. The characters are great. The battle system was unique to the others and I thought it was awesome with all the Espers that you can get. It's a classic game and I really have enjoyed it so far.

Final Fantasy VI was the best thing that ever happened to the SNES (except perhaps IV). This was the game that started the Final Fantasy series in a new direction. The character development and story lines were well developed and the idea that flashbacks and dialogue could happen during battles was brillant. It created a game that was not storyline seperated from game play but instead game play that furthered the story line.
This game also introduced the idea of up to 14 characters in a party each with a unique story. Also the Opera House scene rmains to this day some of the best music ever written in a SNES game. Lets not pick on Final Fantasy VI it was only trying to do the best that it could with the console it was created for. |

I adore the FFVI graphics. I think little sprites are so cute and look really nice. Personally, I kinda wish they'd stuck with sprites for VII and VIII instead of the painfully bad 3d graphics. I love VIII, but I can't play it anymore because of the graphics. I really wish they'd re-release it with the graphics cleaned up a bit. That'd be the best thing ever.

Meh, like I said, If I played it before on the SNES when it first came out, likelyness is I would have loved it, its what your used to I guess.
Is it like a slow getting to the point kinda thing? Does it get better? Maybe one day i'll complete it and maybe even eat my words.

Actually, I didn't play VI until after I'd played VII and VIII. I'm usually really shallow about graphics as well, which is what really suprised me about how much I got into the game. Only other old school game I can look past the graphics is Dragon Warrior I.

I am having a terrible day, I pressed backspace a few times and it deleted what I said, but anyway I will try again:
Livana - I have to agree with you, I don't hate the game but I only went through it once so I cant remember it that well and it obviously never brought me back. But from what I do remember I hate the graphics, the whole flat world was ugly to look at. I can't remember the story that well either except it had something about Terra being a super creature/esper that kind of got remade into FFIX but differant. But seriously the game is quite easy, and very short, you could go through it in a day or so if you really wanted to. But if you really want to experiance old school FF then look for FFIV (thats 4), it hasnt got great graphics but they're better to look at. Its quite a hard game so you may get frustrated a lot, but it is quite possibly the best FF game in the entire series. FFV is more relaxing and has a cool battle system but a lot of people don't like it for unknown reasons to me but you may want to check it out. Personally I think FFVI fanboys are worse than FFVI as they think they are better just because the game is oldschool. I haven't played the game in a while so I don't remember it, but it is incredibly easy and you could complete it in a week if you really wanted to. Also as they said the port wasnt as good as the original so I don't know exactly but my best suggestion is try FFIV before you decide you hate 2D RPGs.

Hmm, my mate had FF4, I might ask him to borrow it then and see what I think?

Livana: I don't want to sound mean, or anything, but this has just been itching at me for some time, and since I'm responding to the thread again, I might as well say it: expecting FF6 to have better graphics than FF7 is just a little bit silly, considering 7, chronologically, comes after 6. Why would they call the game "Final Fantasy 6" if it came out after "Final Fantasy 7?" I understand the date for its release read that it was after the release date of FF7, but in this day and age, games are being remade/imported all the time. Also, in your initial post, all you complained about were the graphics. You even said the game got a 4 for the plot alone, which made it sound like you liked the plot. So, with a start like that, to a thread complaining about the game this very board is based on, I would not expect happy responses Quote:

If you find the graphics annoy you, you definitely aren't going to like FFIV. That game hasn't got the best graphics either. I don't mind them at all. Grahpics aren't the most important for me. The storyline is what matters to me.

Why would Final Fantasy VI have better graphics than VII? VI was released before VII so I don't understand how the graphics would be better. If you don't play VI just because of the graphics, that's your loss. You are missing out on a wonderful game. You should just stick to the newer FF games if you like perfect graphics.
