Livana has levelled up - (lv 1)
But like I said, its not JUST because of its graphics. Because I was only so young when it came out on the SNES, (which I don't think it did here) but when I saw the quality of the fmvs compared to the actually gameplay graphics, there was a huge differece, 2D, 3D huge step. IMO anyways, and when I played it after ff7 and 8, I was expecting alot better from it. But ya know, it can't be everybodys peice of cake =/

Yeah. I suppose playing it when it came out the first time has an effect on the players who enjoy it, to the ones who don't.

How can you expect better graphics from a game released earlier than others?

Sure it was re-released after them, but it was a port, all they did was add a few FMVs. That's all SE do with their PS1 ports. I'm sure you'd have seen that on the back of the case.

You know, I first played FF6 during the Summer of 2001. And it's still my favorite Final Fantasy. I loved it.

...then again, I didn't have any system newer than an SNES until the following year (except for a Game Boy Color; although I did have a chance to own a N64... a couple chances, actually. I was too hooked on Pokemon, though, and chose a Gameboy Pocket + Pokemon Blue over an N64 for my birthday one year... dammit! Had to catch 'em all... and I DID.) I'd seen the newer systems, and I'd played some of them, but it didn't greatly effect me, I suppose, because I never owned one of them.

I can still go back and greatly enjoy video games on the older systems. Just last year I was playing the Mother 1/Earthbound 0 Rom, that was originally for the NES, and I still thought it was a pretty awesome game... fricken' hard towards the end, though. I also played Bahamut Lagoon the Fall before that, over the new games I'd gotten for my Gam Cuber.

Needless to say, I disagree with Lavina's opinion on the matter. Graphics don't highly weigh in for me when I'm playing a game.

I just said about that I was only 3/4 and it wasnt release here! I had already played 7 and 8 then played ff6 which had just come out, and on all of the poster it had really good graphics of the clown dude, then I play it and its 2D? It was way unexpected!

Victor, whats that pic from?

Its kinda hard when there was no back of the case. It was in a little clear wallet thingy because they take all the disks out the boxes and it was the last one, the box was being used for display, except they took the back page and book out. >.< I thought oh its sold out, the posters are good, its obviously a good game!

I actually really enjoyed FF6. The storyline is great, with brilliant meandering twist and turns. I find the battles good too, like a mixture of retro Final Fantasies (such as FF2) and Final Fantasy VII. It's like a revolation, where they switch from turn-based to active time.

I did find the graphics a bit of a "whoa, different from VII", but retro games are great in their own way, and for a 2D game i think theyre quite good.

It was a poor port.I felt the emulation was horrible. The loading times was annoying, sound not quite right, and few other minor things. But I still like it cause it is one of my favorite FF games. Although I felt Square should've done a better job on their ports.

So what if I am, i've also elaborated several times that its not just because of the graphics. But I also hate the story line and the battle system etc.

While Palazzo DOES have a point (i.e. you should play through the game before you make decisions on whether you hate it or not), we still should be respecting Livana's opinion rather than berating her for being a graphics whore.

And jmur couldn't
