Problem with a descisive battle

The battle you play in three groups after you've reached Narse I can't win.

Even if I have health left on all groups it says something like "So you didn't manage to hold them back..."

I've also heard of one quick way to finish it w/o engaging all the bad guys, but...how?

Omg the very 1st time I played
FF3, this "Protect Bannon" part of the game
where you split into 3 groups was soooo hard
for me. But now, it's one of the more exciting
parts!
The character thus far are:
Cyan, Gau, Celes, Locke, Sabin, Edgar, Terra
right?

If I remember well, you should have learned
Fire Dance, as one of Sabin's Blitz Techs, this
far into the game. (I did.) This technique will
help tons!

And sorry, I don't know of this "quick" way to win.

Fire Dance? I maybe have learnt it, sounds familiar anyway. How do you do it?

It will have said that because on of the enemies reached Banon. You musn't let that happen!

Fire Dance (if you have it): Left, Down-Left, Down, Down-Right, Right

Keep one of your parties near Banon incase one of the enemies gets past your other two parties, then you can switch to them to protect Banon.

I'd suggest having at least one magic user and one good physical attacker in each group.

The thing is that I place my groups so that noone can reach Banon w/o defeating one group, and no group were defeted.

Can you explain the Fire dance more? When you write down-left, should I then press both down and left at the same time or press them in that order?

I think there's an alternative method though. Left, Left, Down, Down, Right

It's easier without the Diagonals.

sabin's blitz's should be done like a fighting game

it's like sliding your thumb from left to rightin a downward half-circle....

The alternative method seems simpler to me, I'll try that.

Now the battle was another thing, I enjoyed looking at the poor soldiers walking into Sabin!

But, one bad thing was the ugly look of Kefka, but the rest of the game is so beatiful that that wont make any difference.
