12 | I'm not sure yet. This is my first run through the game. I kinda like using Shadow, Cyan, Terra, Celles, Sabin, and Strago. (I haven't had Gogo very long, but heard he's really good.) I usually have some combination of them, along with locke but only cause i'm paranoid i'm gonna miss the chance to steal something good. Two Raganorks/illumina's sound pretty good though. And i know i'm gonna get the pally shield so i'll still have ultima. Still, i'm a completionist and it might bug me not having an esper at the end of the game.

| | Technically you'll be missing an Esper anyways since you trade Odin for Raiden...And idk how necessary another Ragnarok would be since you'll have Atma/Ultima Weapon too as another ultimate sword...and of those characters you listed only Terra, Celes & Locke can equip them...and idk how good it is to fall back on that many characters' physical attack...it can be good because if you really train well you'll get two massive attacks with a Genji Glove, four attacks with the Offering/Master's Scroll (of which you'll only get one, I believe...is it possible to get another in the Colosseum or by stealing from something?), and eight attacks by combining a Genji Glove & an Offering/Master's Scroll...*shrugs*

And V if you go for tech. speaking no you will not be missing an esper if you go from Odin to Raiden because all raiden is is a modified odin. If you max out on Odin before the swap what are you truely missing? You still have the original Odin stone you have just upgraded it to accomodate Raiden.....

| | You'll only be missing the only Esper that has a Speed +1 stat modifier (unless one of the new ones does it), really. But I guess I meant you'll still have an empty slot in your Esper list.

12 | Here's a thought. I know this usually wouldn't matter, but what if i want character's outside my party to have the best possible gear too? Have everyone as well geared as i can. I guess in the end it's a comfort thing. I'm gonna have a more then powerful enough party anyways, it's just whatever makes the game feel the most "complete" to me.

| | But what's the use of having some weapon equipped though if in the end you're going to be using their ability or Magic instead of the Fight command?

But i made sure i got the speed modifier on all my characters from Odin first, so i'm ready to upgrade him. And i have the pally shield now, and have taught a lot of my characters ultima. I think i will take the sword. If i use a combination of Lock, Terra, Celes, and Edgar (which is actually looking likely), then i'll be glad i took both Ragnoroks along with both Ultima weapons. And even if i leave out one of them, i can find a use for all the swords regardless. Last edited by Ch405 Kn1gh7; 10-02-2008 at 01:53 AM.

12 | Okay, change of plans. Apperently in the advance version i can challenge the final boss as many times as i want and take as many Ultima weapons/ragnaroks as i want. Given this, there is little point in giving up the esper. IF i was playing the SNES version, i would take the sword, but damn it's not even special in the advance version. >.<
