Terra because she can learn magic without espers (morph isnīt good ability). Cyan because he have sword-technics ability. Higher level sword-technics are very powerful. Setzer because he have slot-attack ability. I havenīt get joker doom so... <=)

| Does what you can't. | Edgar, Terra, Sabin, and Mog. Edgar's Tools command is awesome, plus he's one of the best characters that can use some of the best equipment. Terra's Morph is a GREAT ability, as it greatly increases strength and defense. Apart from that, she still has good magic and good attack. Sabin's Blitzes are great, except Spiraler. That was just dumb. And Mog, oh Mog... First and foremost, he's a Moogle. Second, he's a dancing Moogle. After that, he can still use some damn good equipment (Snow Muffler, anyone?), he's good with Magic, and his Dances are extremely useful.

| | I like everybody. How do I decide.Well, I usually use one of either Terra, Celes, or Relm as my primary Magic user. Celes's Runic is my favorite secondary ability of the three, but Terra's stats are a bit better. Edgar is almost always a part of this just because he's such a powerhouse. He's got tools - noiseblaster alone makes him worth using. But he's also one of the four characters in the game that can equip Atma Weapon, one of the three that can wield Illumina/Excalibur/the other awesome swords, and he's got great strength and good choices for armor. He doesn't quite have the options Terra and Celes do, but they're good nonetheless. That leaves two more. Sabin is okay, but he's not really as versitile as others since in order to be most effective he really has to Bum Rush every turn, and that can't be aimed. I like using Shadow simply for the innate 50% interceptor blocks, but Shadow is a bit lacking in the equipment department (not that Sabin isn't). That said, he's also a ninja, so he holds a major place in my heart. Finally... I dunno. Strago is a lot of fun, but Lore is sort of obsolete since there is very little that it does that Magic doesn't do better (Big Guard is about the only noticable exception). Mog is also cool, and a defensive powerhouse though, especially when you give him a Snow Muffler. However, I don't like losing control of him when he dances (his dances all suck in WoR anyway). If I'm gonna give up control, I'd opt for Gau - never really used him in the past, but I hear he's really awesome if you know how to use him. Same with Setzer; I hear he's brutal once you learn how to use his slots, but that takes more effort than I feel like giving. Cyan is too slow to be worth using, even though his SwdTechs rock my socks. Umaro is a joke, and Gogo is too cheap. I guess I tend to opt for Locke a lot in the last slot. His speed is sw33t, he can steal (not that it helps very often), and... well, I have a thing for Genji Gloving a pair of Wing Edges to develop a back row killing machine. Yeah, I know the Valiant Knife is better; sue me. | ||||||||

433 | You only need one character to beat the Statues and Kefka because of this glitch: Quote:
Anyway, onto my party of four: Edgar: My favourite character and the only one in my party who didn't cast spells. I gave him the chainsaw and he could do around 4000 damage per hit. As awall said, he can equip Illumina, which if I remember rightly gave 50% to MBlock. Celes, Terra, Relm: I've put them together because they are so alike. I gave one of them the hairpin which allowed all magic to be cast with 1 MP and the other two received the Gem Box which halved the MP required to cast anything. Quite simply, repeatedly using Ultima is highly effective. | ||||||||

| | My favourite party was probably Locke, Celes, Sabin and Edgar. I thought they were all pretty powerful and they all had a special technique which made them strong. I didn't use Gau or Cyan that much... I didn't think they were useful. I use Celes as the healer. Sabin and Edgar are the attackers because of their power. Locke steals from the enemies and sometimes attacks as well. | ||||||||

Put a Gauntlet on that guy, and he's gold. He's one of the most powerful characters, and he's got the best armor in the game. Sure, he's mediocre if you don't have the Gauntlet on him, but with it, he's one of the strongest ones. Make his other Relic a RunningShoes, or Marvel Shoes, or his Rage Ring, or even a Black Belt, and he's definitely up there. Quote:

| | Cyan, Mog, Shadow, and Celes. I love Runic and I think it's an excellent defensive manuever. I love Mog's Dances and they are both very effective and versatile. I think Cyan is one of the strongest in the game with all of his many SwordTech's. Shadow is just a cool character to have with great attack ability and his dog is simply a perk to kickass when your not expecting it.

| All-range mode! | My favorite party is based purely on cosmetics and personalities. Or maybe not purely, but just for the most part... Anyway, mine's Mog, Locke, Terra, and Sabin. Mog, because he's so damned cute! I love putting him at the front of the party, so that he represents me on the world map. Even if he doesn't have the best attacks in the game. Like Sasquatch mentioned, he can equip the snow muffler (that's the one that causes all physical damage to only deal out 1's to him, right?) Locke, because he's only my favorite Final Fantasy character ever. He can also steal shit and mug people. It's as elegant an act as the way in which I describe it. Terra is fairly strong in her Esper mode; not just magically, but with physical attacks, as well. I give her the offering and... that thing... whatever those two relics are called that let your character attack the enemy eight times. Plus, she's possibly my second favorite character in the game, behind Locke, or maybe third behind Mog. Finally, Sabin is just a bad ass. Until you get to the people who can use offerings+whatever that other item is called... damn, I just played this game last Spring, again. You'd think I'd be able to remember these things... oh well. Wuv, Yer Mom

| Does what you can't. | Genji Glove. And the Snow Muffler doesn't reduce all physical damage to 1 HP, but it does have +128 Defense and +90 Magic Defense, plus +10% Magic Block and Evade, I think. And it asborbs Ice-elemental attacks and cuts Fire-elemental attacks by 50%. I can't remember which one it was, but one time I went through Kefka's Tower with one party (I think the far left one) being only Mog with a Moogle Charm, forgetting about the Statue of course, and when I ran across it, the thing used North Cross and South Cross and some Fire stuff, so he didn't do too much damage, and he kept healing me anyway. Which pleasantly surprised me. Anyway. You can get the Offering and Genji Glove for Sabin, too, and find another Tiger Fangs for him, and he'll kick some ass, too. Not as much as with the Atma Weapon and/or Illumina, maybe, but definitely not bad.
