Oh hell yeah. I thought I'd have to restart from the last save, then work my way backwards and take the crane out (can't remember if you can Warp out of Kefka's Tower), but the Statue kept healing me. It took a while, but good ol' Mog took him out. He had the Pearl Lance, too, so he'd just attack, and then every once in a while it'd cast Pearl...did pretty good.

Locke-With his Mug ability, I can steal without wasting attacks, and when he uses boomerangs and stuff from the back row, he lasts for quite a while. Normally, I have to use equipment and relics that boost his strength for him to make much of a difference damage-wise, but his great speed makes him an excellent healer.

Sabin-He's quite the powerhouse, and uses magic decently, too. He seems to get hit more often than most other characters on my game, so I slapped the black belt and the genji glove on him, and he often punishes the enemy severly for attacking.

Relm-Her abilities aren't that useful, but she has the strongest magic power in the game. Currently, I've got her decked out with almost all the spells there are. As long as I keep her alive, she hammers most enemies.

GoGo-He's cheap, but being able to copy everyone's most powerful moves is something I can't resist.

Sabin-Runs very hot or cold in battles.

Celes-Heals, so naturally needed.

Edgar-The best and strongest character in the whole game.

Setzer-Has a nice mix of attacks, defenitley not the best, but very well rounded.

I picked this group for no reason they are jest cool and you are the first group I got to level 99 and That is the group I beat the game with my first time. I might have had Shadow in there but I forgot to go back for him on the floating place so I didn't had him. My second group would be...

This is the second group I level to 99 and this is my second favourite group yet again It is mostly becase they are cool characters I picked them but they do have good skills.

Terra- To me she was the main Character.
Cyan- Badass. 'Nuff said.
Sabin-Also very cool, reminds me alot of myself.
Shadow- Ninja's are cool.

A total "man party" aside from Terra, but like I said I felt like she belonged there story-line wise.

Ah, you are probably right. It's a shame I got the names muddled up as it has been far too long since I played the game. Thanks for correcting me.

Locke - He can steal, and stealing is good. But aside from that I find it relativly easy to give him a decent array of magic abilities, and hes actually pretty strong, for as much as that seems to count in the later part of the game anyway..

Terra - Does much need to be said? Shes the main character (imho), a great magic user and her Esperian form comes in quite handy in a pinch.

Celes - The other strong magic user, she seems the natrual choice. Besides, shes rather cool in her own way.

Mog - Shockingly enough. Why? I just plane like him - the fourth slot, like the first, went to someone I just wanted around since I had them semi-reserved for 'fighters' of which there are many and which are not that much use in the end. Besides, hes a rather maluble character, he seems to be able to handle a weapon or a spell easily enough and those dance techs can be quote useful/powerful if you use them right.

Also like to use the brothers a lot, in the 'split into teams' scenarios Sabin and Celes make a very effective pairing in my experiance, add in Edgar and it just gets better. Gau gets a lot of use simply because I really do like his special skill and find that certain of his rages can be very useful and well ranged, for example I got some good use out of the Wild Cat rage early on in the game having found it to be very helpful.

Locke, Terra, Sabin and Celes look its my fav so gots to be there lol, Terra also a cool char plus can use magic, sabin cause his cool kamahamehas and all them pumels things, and celes cause she is awesome lol.

Edgar- tool command is useful and he is a very well balanced character.

Sabin- my powerhouse. give him that item which permits him to use swords and heavy armor, as well as the duel sword wield ability he is and offensive powerhouse.

Celes- the runic ability... nuff said

terra- her morph ability makes her magic ridiculously strong. good enough reason for me to use her.

for fun i'll turn someone into an imp and give them all the imp gear.

Gau, Gogo, Setzer (lovingly called ACE), and Terra.

First of all, Gau rocks like hell. After getting a ton of monsters, he can instantly be a flying fireball tosser (pteredon) or a T-rex from the armageddon part. After that, he can wear almost any armor while maintaining speed. I always give him magic to be a complete character.
He's my all-time favorite.

The reason why I say Gogo is because he can use any ability. I don't know if it's true for PS, but on Super Nintendo, there was a glitch that gave you infinite of many powerful relics, so that when I fought Kefka at the end, all spells cost 1 MP. Statistically, he is the best character. In battle, put "Magic" as one of his abilities, and he has all magic of the party. He's awesome! My stats for him are Blitz and Magic for sure, with one that you can add on as well.

Ace is my other fave, and I really enjoy his ability that, with timing and practice, can be a very powerful weapon. Besides that, he's the second character (or is it third) that you get in the armageddon stage, and becomes a very useful character. Finally, he has a class that I love to fight with!

OK, Terra is the main character, so they try to make her the most powerful character. Morph, no matter what people say, is an awesome ability that should not be taken lightly. Making it so that magic is extra powerful with an already powerful magic user is not that bad. Also, she is able to weild the atma weapon (right?), and so her weapon capabilities aren't that bad either.
