Celes or Terra?

Yeah. I had to vote for both of them as well.

Celes was more useful in battle, but her character wasn't as detailed as most others (we don't know as much about her past as the rest of the party). Conversely, Terra wasn't as useful in battle, but there was a vulnerability about her character that made her quite endearing.

Come to think of it, besides the times when you have to have her, and when you start the WoR, I never used Celes, I dislike her that damn much.

Then again, I'm not one to vary much with my party set up. I find a party I like and I stick with it, and rarely change characters, and if I do it's only because the current party got their ass kicked by a monster that another member could easily take down.

I use Terra more than Celes. That may be because we get her first and such. Celes is great too, but for some reason, I just prefer Terra. I almost never used Runic and didn't find too much use in it so... meh...

I definitely had to choose Terra, otherwise I wouldn't be myself... Skillwise, Celes has a cool skill that would have been too abusive if the all-target skills were added. Terra's Morph skill becomes a little lacking once magic attack boosters and Ultima spell are achieved. So, I grant that to Celes. But, storywise, I consider Celes's general-turned-rebel story lacking to Terra's quest to know about emotions (deep enough, that's mostly what the story is about, IMO,DKAY)
plus all she has to suffer... that got me to do my choice. Though, quite frankly, that's not the only reason...

P.S.: I don't care Squaresoft (now Squeenix) put Terra's hair blonde this time, to me her hair is GREEN!!!!!!! Enough said!!!

I liked terra better D: Ive always been a summon abuser anyway xD and morphing was fun :3 plus i like her chara design better xD

Celes, i just didnt care much for her. I didnt use her much;; but hey, Terra is terra she'll always be one of my fav FF charas x3;

While I never really used either of them beyond the normal requirements, I'm going to go with Terra. I didn't find much use for Runic, in the World of Balance or World of Ruin. I only used it on that that one battle that makes it more or less a necessity. Morph wasn't really my favorite move either, but I still liked it over Runic.

As for appearance, Celes wins. She just had that look. That cool look.

It comes down to story I guess, and for that I'm going with Terra. Because I liked it better.

So the winner in my mind: Terra.

the reasons i have in mind has already been said. i use celes more and therefore i find her more useful, i never really liked terra to tell you the truth, anyhow celes gets my vote.

Celes is better beacause of her runic only and spells but Terra's morph is very good for boss fights but still celes takes the crown.

The Esper customisation and waining use of runic in WOB aside, Celes simply IS FF6 to me.

Her story holds the entire second half together IMHO. Not only is she beautiful, she is rock hard and a skilled magic user! How often does that happen?!

The whole gravity of the genetically engineered plot is great - Celes is more tourtured with herself than Terra could ever be as she realised their is no absolution for the cost of her abilities. Terra is weak BECAUSE she isn't flawed; Celes sees both sides of herself and learns to cope with both making her a freakin' legend in my eyes. GO TEAM CELES!

Definitely Terra in my opinion. Her Morph ability came in handy to deal out massive physical damage (9999 per hit on a genji glove + offering attack was rather nice) and I never had a use for Runic anyway. That first battle with Celes' ability, that was it. Other than that, Runic never saw the light of day for me. Looks-wise though, I guess there's just something about the green hair (Rydia in FFIV anyone?) but that still doesn't stop Celes from being a looker too. So, usefullness, Terra, looks, gimme'em both.

I like both of them. In the beginning I like using Terra better, at the end Celes. Their characters are both fine with me...

Celes is kinda cool, but she hinders Terra when using Runic!!!!! AAARGH!!!
That's one of the reasons I never use Runic. Yeah, you guessed it, I like Terra better. I like the whole "I can't remember much about myself" attitude Eventhough she remembers everything later, she STILL IS the lead character. She too can use a sword. Yes I'm being a smart ass again, but Celes is just a little...EAGH. Terra is just cool

I like them both. It is useful that you can learn magic without Esper. Even you can learn faster with Esper. I like also their personalities. Terra is like other FF main characters, finding her own way to deal with others and his history and Celes have been 'slave' and other stuff like that.

I didn't Terra's morph ability much even it raised stats because to use that you have to fight many times again. And Celes' Runic skill was useful against boss and in Magic Tower( or something like that) you could drain magic attacks.

I liked them both too, they were both useful in their own ways, and like Testbug said it is useful to learn magic without espers.
