Post New Jobs in the Gameboy Version

Today in the mail I got my Game Informer magazine and there is about two pages disuccsing FFV on the Gameboy Advance. Well to start with is it comes is the graphics are somewhat improved and their is a 30 floor dungeon known as the "Sealed Dungeon." Anyways apart from that the new jobs is what is making me interested in the game. Here is the list and descriptions of the following new jobs that will be coming in the Gameboy version:

Gladiator: a specialist in powerful physical attacks
Oracle: a mage who can use fate-altering effects like pronouncement and prophecy
Cannoneer: a demolition specialist who combines items to create bombs to throw at enemies.
Necromancer: a mage that uses evil dark magic and summons demons into battle.
Personally this is a lot of jobs in the game, but the question I want to ask if what do you think of the new jobs? Do they sound good? Or its just too much?

Here are what those abiltys do.

Prophet
Sentence has a group of eight abilities which are basically sentences - after a particular amount of time has passed, they will successfully set their intended effect on the recipient. The amount of time required depends on the Job Level of the Prophet: 20 seconds to start with, then 15, 10, 7 and finally 5 seconds at max job level. The first two abilities are Cure Sentence and Recovery Sentence, and are meant to heal your party members after a certain amount of time. The other six are Fire Sentence, Ice Sentence, Lightning Sentence, Frog Sentence, Death Sentence and Stop Sentence.

Prophecy is strange - it seems to "foretell" the arrival of disasters. Earthquakes, floods, yeah. The attacks hurt everyone but I've yet to learn the exact details. There's three levels of Prophecy, but didn't see an immediate difference between Lv1 and Lv3, so... Well, give it time for now.

ABP Up and Enemy Away should be self-explanatory. ABP Up increases ABP gain by 50% and Enemy Away decreases encounter rate. *REALLY* decreases it. It's not No Encounters, sadly, but you'd be forgiven for thinking it - I encountered only two to three battles on a trip through CoD with it on.

Bombardier
I haven't tested this as much as the others.

Bombard does a long range attack that is independtly calculated (it does not use your normal attack rate)... and it can randomly add statuses. I've seen Confuse and Death been added thus far. There's likely more.

EXP Up is self-explanatory.

Haven't played with Synthesis yet - am expecting something similar to Chemist's Mix, but with more focus on offensive attacks... we'll see.

Gladiator
Enemy Lure makes you encounter enemies *very* often.

Certain Kill randomly either does nothing, a Critical Attack, or an Element Attack (I haven't seen any other results yet). Element Attack is very interesting... it was abnormally powerful even in Prophet, and like the 3rd Elemental Level Magic Swords, it will instantly kill a target that is weak to the element used. However, the element seems to be based on who uses it, and is related to which crystal granted that character its powers at the start of the game: Lenna gets Water, Faris gets Fire, Galuf/Krile gets Earth and Butz gets Wind. And I've seen this hit 9999 repeatedly against CoD enemies while in Prophet again, even while my normal attack is barely doing 100.

Rear Attack is a passive ability that - I assume - causes your normal physical attacks to always be long range. Haven't adequately tested it yet.

And finally, Area Attack is your normal attack turned area - you hit every enemy for slightly reduced normal attack damage.


Covenant is basically Archer's animals, but with a Undead/Darkness theme.

Darkness allows you to use the Darkness spells you earn by having a Necromancer kill a particular enemy.

Undead is self-explanatory - you equip it, and you're Undead. Necromancer has this passive active automatically, but it is not (thankfully) inherited by Freelancer.

well, if you ask me i think that you should get the Gladiator class ask a reward for beating Enuo.

In the gameplay movies at youtube, the class almost always does 9999damage with a abilty*metioned above*

The "Lure" and "Enemy away" abiltes seem useful.

Yeah, new jobs were announced a while back, but I had only heard about 2 of them, it's kinda cool seeing more than that I want to make a full party of Necromancers! Bwahaha. Hm, I wonder if you turn your party member undead, do you still get to control em o.O? There is no real point of making your character extremely weak to fire and holy if you cant even control him -_-;;

Interesting. I'm glad they're out of bland remakes and actually building onto the game itself rather than adding in ~just~ a boring dungeon.

Melee Classes Rule FF! I'm glad to see that FFV now has one of the best.

K i beat it a long time ago and forgot bout this thread. The Gladitor is really good. He is like a knight on steriods. and the

abilty is really good. If you use it on somthing that is weak to an element, it does 9999damage but if you use it on somthing that absorbs a lot of element, it will get healed 9999. On normal foes, it does 9999.

The oracle.....is the worst out of them but you should master it because of the

abilty. It is reall good because it really does

lower the encounter rate. There is a vid on youtube showing how lond it takes to beat the final level with read ahead and how long it takes to beat the final level with enemy lure(gladitor)

It is also really fun playing with predict.

Cannoner ehhhh is ok. It is like a offensive chemist so there really isn't much to say, just mix away.

Neomancer, is better than the black. Doomsday is really strong(as strong as a Bahamut summon)Ya this is just like a black mage but stronger. There is the
