I actually tought this game was poor. The storyline wasnt that great, Lack of characters and wasnt that much intresting stuff to do after you bet the game.

182 | I never finished it, but that's because I didn't have the desire to really. I like the job system, but the story seems too straightforward and kiddish compared to FFIV. I heard the story for FFIII was great, so I look forward to the job system in that game along with a good story when it comes out for DS. (Assuming I can ever afford a DS)

The game was not that great but not that bad either,I really liked playing it and here are the reasons why... *job/Classes- there are so many classes to choose from, knight, white mage, blue mage, red mage, monk, archer, ninja, trainer, etc... I think this is the only good reason why I like to play the game.I wanted to complete all the job skills but I searched the net to give a heads up on gaining important skills. *Skills- there are so many skills to choose from and they can even be combined to create a different warrior with different strenths and weaknesses.the skill sysytem is another thing I like becasue for example I can make the blue mage have higher HP or have stronger defense or even equip him with swords and axes, cool huh.just think of the things you can do with the skiiiiiiillllsssss bwahahaha! *Monsters- well normally monsters are a common thing on a final fantasy game but I really like battling them.especially on FF 5 when monsters have lots of skills and magic to use against you.it makes the game more intresting for me. ***HALLER BACK!!!***

n/a | I always thought it was one of the strongest of the classic games. With a fantastic battle system, 4 world maps, light-hearted atmosphere and most importantly ExDeath, I see little reason to complain. It captures the original premise of the Final Fantasy series quite splendidly.

| | FFV seems to be one of those games that gets less love than it deserves. It really had good, balanced battle system (although some classes were way better than others, few were so bad to be useless), a great challenge, and... heck, the Job/Ability system in 5 was WAY ahead of its time. As far as I know, no other game had that customizable a battle sysmet until much later on. I know FF3 was the first game that allowed you to shift jobs, but FFV did it waaaaaay better. But I agree with the sentiment that the story was very dry, and the graphics could have also stood to be a tad better. As it was, the game looked just like FF4. | ||||||||

| | Graphics? Who the **** cares about th graphics on a SNES game? Seriously. Anyway, I feel that Final Fantasy V is a great game. Yes, I used the word great. What is there to not like about this game? I'll give you that the story is weak compared to IV and VI. But ONLY when used as a comparison. The story is still good, in my opinion. The job system is what makes me fall in love. I am a sucker for variation, which is why I have a passion for the first Final Fantasy. No two games willk be identical because you'll be able to try new combinations. That, my friends, is where replay value is such an important factor. I wonder...what would a 4 White Mage group be like in FFV? Interesting...

Anyways... Even though I just started playing it today (well...got past the first 5 minutes today XD ) I have to say that I really really like this game. I can already tell that it's going to be one of my favorites for quite some time. I think it's very underrated because everyone is comparing it to other games, just like how VIII is so often overlooked because of VII. Just because the other games are "better" doesn't necessarily make this one "bad". Who cares if it's not like IV or VI, it's still a hell of a lot of fun, to me at least. So far the part that stands out to me the most is the battle system. This is obviously the predecessor to the Final Fantasy XI job system, and I love that kind of customizing. It's a lot more fun to play an RPG when I can play it my way, since I tend to like underrated characters/jobs anyways lol. The only complaint I have so far is that they give me too many jobs at once so now I'm stuck obsessively leveling them all for hours. XD Damn my perfectionism! Besides, you get to ride a dragon. A DRAGON. How cool is that? Ok fine, so I'm obsessed with that too but...who isn't, seriously. ^.^ Yeah I know, I'm a freak.~DragonHeart~

500 | I liked this game. Sure the story line was not as strong as some of the others (A.K.A IV) but it has that old school RPG feel to it which I really enjoy. I also like that you can change job classes in the middle of play instead of having to walk to a town or castle to change. IT was not my favorite FF but I am glad that I own it.
