Jachol Cave

I am curious about something, my strat guide doesn't make any clear mention of how to handle the "Werewolf" in the jail. I found out later that he knows Galuf, but didn't know that earlier, so I didn't think it the right thing to do to let him out of jail.

If I didn't will the treasure in this cave still be there, or was I supposed to let him out to be able to get the treasure in this cave?

If the treasure is gone and I cannot get it obviously, does anyone know another location or source from where I can get a Shock Whip?

I only ask because it's a treasure in the cave, and if I didn't let him out and for some reason he took all the treasure, than I don't know where to get another copy of the whip.

That is possibly true in the long run, however a Shock Whip could come in pretty handy during fights with machines or creatures weak against lightning, such as the Soul Gun Launcher and Rocket Guns found in the Floating Ruins.

But it doesn't matter, I found the treasure so it's all good and I found out I was right. You are not supposed to release him from the jail, if you do he'll take the treasure. Well I'm guessing he will, I don't know since I didn't release him.

The guy you can release from Jail isn't the same wolf that knew Galuf...

Galuf's friend was called Werewolf or something, though the one in jail is called Lone Wolf the pickpocket. Either way it doesn't matter in the slightest, though I would've thought that people would realised this after seeing the wolf in jail after the Fire Crystal scene.
