I bash FFV, and I love FFVIII. I also think that FFX-2 is the best
FF game for the PS2. What's your point?

The job system in this game was kinda annoying compaired to the simple Materia system or the 'get what your given' stuff from FF4 and FFIX. Though it was still good because battling and leveling up is half the fun of an RPG IMO.

It wasn't annoying, it was deeper. I don't think the general public will give up on games because the system is more complex. FFV's system was actually very simple, and games with much more complex systems (bringing FFT back up) have sold better and have had a much better impression in America.
If we're talking about why nobody likes FFV in America, the answer isn't that hard. I've explained why I think FFV is the worst FF, but that's not why it sold poorly in America. I don't work for Square, so I couldn't tell you why they didn't bring FFV over originally, but by the time they had in the PS era, it was outdated. And, unlike FFIV, VI, or CT, no American gamers had the feeling of nostalgia from their childhood they got while playing FFV, because it had never been released here before. A lot of what made the rereleases sell was nostalgia. Very few people are going to pick up a game in SNES graphics on the PSX that they've never played before, regardless of whether the game has the Final Fantasy name on it. The nostalgia drew many people to purchase these games, and FFV had no nostalgia related to its name, therefore, nobody felt like playing it.
