metal it's a good idea to keep playing, I beat it and it is an awesome game, especially the job system, it was my favorate ability/stat increasing thing, cause it was kinda like X-2 cause you lvl up the abilities, but you still get to keep the results.

char's, i feel they were still better then cloud, they had a background story as well. they are half attitudeless but still have history.

story was decent, ot the greatest story, but that doesn't matter, the story was still good

it was a pretty easy game, unless you want to master everything, now THAT takes forever

QUOTE]whats the problem? i didnt mention story line cus im not tht far in the game.
and also how many other FF's had the element crystals? i know ff4 and ff5 did but where there others?[/quote]

Wow, about half of the games had something or other to do with elemental crystals! FF I, III, IV, V, and IX all had crystals tied into the story.

And yes FF V is one of the top final fantasies.

I think it's true, and they could make the graphics a little better, too... I've tried it and I left it after 15 minutes of gameplay... -.-

I'm surprised that this thread hasn't died yet.

Well, I'll assist it's existence.

I'm not sure if I stated my opinion as of yet, but out of all the FFs I've played, I prefer this one the least. That doesn't mean I don't like it.

My favorites are a three-way tie between 7, 8, and 10.

Anyways, I found this game to be fun but since it's an oldie, it has a weak story. I also like how the Job System was handled in this one.

All in all, it was a darn good game but I inferior as an FF game.

The only FF I've yet to play is FF3.

Question

hey FFV was as good as all the other games and it had a good story to it as well as an easy to understand job system
so why do you think it sucks

I loved it myself. The humour, the job system, the game length. Graphics are a bit out dated, but look at the other older FFs.

A game with decent gameplay can still draw fans and amaze as FFV still continues to do.
And chocobo mates rule....

I prefer FFIV over V, mainly because of the story and graphics(yes, compared to FFIV's).
But I still find it fun and it has a good job system.
Being a FF game, it doesn't suck in any way!

FFV is the best FF in the whole series. I can't stand it, when people bash this FF classic, even if it did suck, it still made the greatest hits list, so it rivals the rest of them.
So Tom... as it stands, you have commited blasphemy on FF not just V but every one.

Don't call him that.
It confuses me.

i agree with all theese people who are saying its a classic.(yes i know ive said a lot of this before on this thread but now ive played more of the game). i mean how could hate the mystery and suspense in the game?
Spoiler:
the scene where you find lenna had the same pendant(or amuet watever) as faris and thoose amulets were given to the lenna and her sister. or wat about the kinght who knew galuf? yet galuf has no memory. the teleporters in the metiors. the queen from the town of the fire crystal being takin over and trying to kill you.

all this adds to the mystery and suspense of the syory. so all you saying that it has a weak story i think you should rethink that.(but its just opinions) and all this is just aided by its great job system.

EDIT: sry about messing up the spoiler thing not use to doing it

Comparing FFIV to FFV. Hmmm... FFV had a good enough story line for it's time. I did like Faris, Sky Pirates unite (is there a pirate group >_>; I didn't check yet, definate join.) Plus the battles with Gilgamesh are epic. I find X-Death a little bit more appealing then Zeromus to be honest.

I think the only difference bewteen the two is the characters are developed a bit better in IV. Otherwise, the graphics seem the same, just new variety of positions, attacks, summon, and the jobs are different as well.

So technically FFV has alot to offer and most definately doesn't "suck"

I can agree with all of those points, but what FFV added to the whole Final Fantasy series were those classes. They were really cool! Those were the fun part of the whole game basicly. The rest of the game is rather boring, and nothing really happens troughout the game which would make you want to keep playing.

Well, hmm. The FFV characters were actually somewhat unique. How often do you meet an old guy who has amnesia in a video game? What I enjoyed about the game was the classic feel of it. The nice catchy world map theme, the beautiful, yet simple, graphics. I say it was one of the greatest games ever.
