FFV doesn't suck. It's a great game with a pretty good storyline, likeable characters and the two worlds to explore. Also, being able to choose your character's classes doesn't make fighting as linear as it was in other installments.
I dont think this game is hard at all; most of the bosses I've faced up to now have been pretty easy and I've beaten most of them without any extra effort or leveling up. Last edited by Brotherhood; 04-12-2006 at 02:58 PM. |

I played FFV about a year ago, and it is one of the only games that was the only game I played until I beat it. Usually I get bored with a game and go to another one, then come back a little bit later. But not FFV. It was a good game, in my opinion. And my opinion is in no way influenced by the legacy attached to the game. Sure, the Final Fantasy name got me to play the game, but I have disliked a few Final Fantasies(FFVII and FFX, for example). Anyway, I will not name what I liked about the game, because the list would be longer. So instead, here is what I did not like about it:
1. The Motive of the Final Boss, I just thought it was a lame reason to attack. 2. Redundency, it is pretty much the same thing over and over again. Which is kinda lame, and something I dislike about the entire franchise overall. 3. Characters, I will agree that the characters lacked a certain depth found in most other games. 4. Storyline, okay. I am going to go half-and-half on this one. Some of the story sucked, but there were parts I liked about it. Overall, it was not a terrible game. P.S. I would like to clarify that Final Fantasy Five was not, with the exception of those stupid tree things, a hard game. The only reason I had trouble with the tree things was I was a low level. But with a little skill, you can beat the entire game easily. Last edited by Bunny; 07-01-2004 at 08:44 PM. |

FFV was pretty good, it had satisfactory gameplay, but playing it reminded me of FFT with the jobs...But it was pretty fun, and the storyline was 'okay', and it sure wasn't a step down from anything, like Tom says...

I don't think it sucks, but I DO think that the story and characters sucked. The job system is very addicting, though. In fact, I was so addicted to walking around and getting new Job Abilities, that this used to be my overall favorite FF... But not anymore. I don't have a "favorite" now.

as I remember, FFV was the birth of the Job system as we know it.
You had, up to that point, no games with the customization that FFV offered. It's one of my favorite games SOLEY based on the job system. I loved that.

Ah
not exactly the same..
FFV have the customizable job system, while ff3 did not (ff1 even had classes). I.E., you could be what you choose to be, similar to the recent game ffx-2 maybe thats why I liked it so much.

You could choose your classes quite easily, by earning capacity points. Then again, now that I think about it. I guess you have a point with the whole ability thing. Meh. I still think that FF3 started the jobs though. Last edited by Dauragon; 08-22-2004 at 05:35 PM. |
