Ok so me being, pretty much an FFT nOOb. I was wandering whether to go out and purchase one, but i have no idea of the game whatsoever. I've naievely (spelling) overlooked them for years. But have lately heard so much good stuff about them on scanning the forums. Is it mainly like a strategy game, across a board/map?? Are there any RPG elements in it? besides the FF classes and magics?? Which would be the best game to get?? What platforms are they available on?? Sorry i know, i should get off my arse and go find this out myself..im a student, lazy is part of my education. Any help appreciated. thanks.

I would recomend the War of the Lions which is the original FFT with more charecters, multiplayer and many extras. It is on the PSP. PSP(War of the lions) PSX(Original, but i dont know where you will find it) Gameboyadvance(FFTA and the second...But I have not played the second so I dont know what its like.) I hope I was able to help you. By the way I am a FFT super-freak! I love the game and would recomend it to anyone! ![]()

Inventory | I love FFT so much I run a site about it! So yes, all these games are great, and if I were you, I'd get the PSP version if you happen to have a PSP. But the PSP version is very story driven and if you casually play games then you may be lost if you take like a week or two off from the game (Unless you have a good memory). FFTA for the GBA and FFTA2 for the DS are also excellent and are pretty much the same type of game. The FFTA versions have different races to choose from and more job classes. Also how you learn skills is different as well. The FFTA version I find are more user friendly, but the story in both the GBA and DS versions are nothing compared to the story in War of the Lions for PSP. So it all depends on what kind of player you are. I know some people that hated the original Tactics (Shocking I know!) but loved the FFTA versions, and visa versa.

| Well I almost beat FFTA to 100% compleation(just had a coupple of missions left....couldnt find items needed) and I loved it! Im not saying its a bad game. however The GBA verion is alot easier to play as Jin above me said. It also is the founder of the FF12 world. So If you are a FF12 fan then you will see many references to it in FFTA. If you have the money I think you should get FFTA2 and war of the lions...just beacuse you can get the main charecter from FFTA2 on War of the lions and you will then accually know who he is....unlike me. | ||||||||||||

| It all depends on what FFT game you buy. If you buy the PSP Final Fantasy Tactics (FFT), then you will play a masterpiece that was ported back from the PSX days. FFT was known for it's unlimited amount of customization with characters and for it's challenging yet fun and varied gameplay. Since you seem unfamilar with the gameplay, I'll paint you a picture of how it goes: Pre-Battle: choose from your army of which characters will go into battle. Most battles let you pick up to five characters. Once you select them, you choose what kind of starting formation they will have when it comes to where the character is placed on the map. Battle: You get your selected characters thrown into battle against anywhere from 3-10 enemy humans and/or monsters. There is a bar next to your hp/mp called a CT, which measures order of turns. when your character's CT gets to 100, that character gets a chance to move and/or perform an action. (certain classes will fill up their CT faster, like Thieves for example.) everything, from how many square units you can move, to the actions you can do, rely on what class the character is. That is the bare-bones way of how things work, of course with all the many jobs and characters, things become complex in quite a hurry, but you get the picture. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (FFTA) is the series that has been released on the GBA/DS consoles, and they are essentially a bite-size version of FFT. They have different aspects that they bring to the table that FFT doesn't have, but FFT IMO is a much more polished game over FFTA, so if you have a PSP I would strongly recommend FFT for it. | ||||||||||||

As for the FFT being rare on the PSX? I'm sure you could at least find a copy on ebay or somewhere. The thing with it is it used to have that rare status that Castlevania: Symphony of the Night did, but SE was smart back then and released the "greatest hits" version, which was the exact same thing, it GH just gave it an excuse to re-release a great game that could still draw more people to it, based on it's combined cult/mainstream followings. It was kinda bad for the collectors that could make money for selling it at hundreds of dollars, but it gave many others a chance to find it. So to answer your question, yeah you could find FFT for the PSX on ebay for a fair price.
