...? Erm, just to enlighten you two guys a bit, because this just seemed a bit entertaining. I know you two guys are new, so I decided to point this out because it's something this
forum isn't. And that's a chatroom/Futaba channel.
I altered a bit the string of posts so you could realize how close this was to a chatroom. I (and pretty much the entire TFF community) can't stress out enough that this is a forum, and thus your content should be rather concise and in tune with the meaning of the thread. You shouldn't have any more problems since the little "convo" actually stressed two points, which I seek to respond to.
One more thing: that's the entire purpose of this forum. Helping those in trouble with FFTA2. If we were to fix this, could this be renamed the "FFTA2 Help Page"? FFT and FFTA have this kind of page, so why FFTA2 doesn't, now that it technically exists? Then again, the amount of problems posted aren't that much...
For the Sky Pirate mission, the best bet is to find and use a Paladin; in case such option isn't available, use a White Mage to heal Vaan as much as possible. By the range of the mission, you probably don't have access to some of the important abilities that could certainly help this mission (Cover, Tranq, Concentrate), so you need to improvise. A key aspect would be to have characters that can immobilize your enemies (Archer with their Aims, Gunner with Stopshot and Muteshot for the mages, etc.), hoping your chances are pretty high to succeed. The most troubling character is actually the White Mage, since it heals all others when they are close to dying, thus increasing the frustration.
I quite don't remember which is the applying Law there (I believe is Solitude; certainly it isn't Abilities) If necessary, you can attempt to disregard the Law if all your characters are healthy and alive.
I did the Camoa Cup quest at the time I found the Lanista class, which is pretty much after half the game has passed, so I found little problem with it. Usually, all the enemies will be at the 20-25 level range, so you can beat them with ease. If Abilities are forbidden, try getting the Regen or the highest Power Up privilege and whack them all; privileges such as Bonus AP and Bonus Gil apply only at the last battle. All battles are pretty easy if you consider surpassing the level of the characters; having a bunch of other new classes is quite recommended as well. As always, if the Law is too restrictive, break it: it's a choice between keeping the privilege and reviving people or winning the battle, and if you can't use Abilities reviving is impossible. I'm actually a bit more scared of other tourney-type missions, actually.
