FF Tactics Glitch

I was just wondering if anyone knows about the instant 9999 JP Glitch when buying Abilities on the first Final Fantasy Tactics?

I stumbled on it while playing around in the Abilitys screen of the Chemist. When it said if I wanted this Ability, I held Square and pressed up or down in the screen and the Cursor jumped. It somehow reset my JP to 0000, and I freeked out and exited the screen. When I went back in I had 9999 JP.

The problem was it didn't work for all of the Jobs.

Dose anyone have a list of the classes that makes this possible or easier?

I have heard of something called "The JP Scroll Glitch" but had no other details. Sorry I can't help you, there is a Weapon Duplication trick I know of, but that's it.

That sound's really familiar to the "JP Scroll Glitch" like Cain has mentioned.I think that cheat was on the PS1 version of FFT. I couldn't find anything on Neoseeker when I was searching for it. How did you find the cheat though? Maybe you can look at it again from the source you got and see if you did it right or something.

That would be a pretty cool glitch I might just check it out. It does sound like the weapon duplication trick. I know that one is true. I made a excalibur for every character. Are you sure you just didn't get those two mixed up? For your question if you figured out how to do the glitch couldn't you just try it for every class? I have no idea. I didn't even know that there was a glitch like that.

It is the JP scroll glitch.
It only works on jobs that have more than 1 'page' of abilities.

And yes, I knew about it. I have been known to use that particular glitch from time to time.

And by now it's very likely that anyone who cares knows it. FFT has been out for...like 10 years now. The statute of limitations for spoilers, glitches, and the like has long since passed.

Just kidding..but yeah I've never heard of that glitch myself, and I've put COUNTLESS hours into my first FF Tactics playthrough. Got all the weapons, characters, leveled up all my characters to lv. 100, but never once did I hear about that glitch. I definitely knew about the item duplication trick, which I actually discovered myself before reading about it. Trust me when I say I used that to my advantage.

I tried it again on other classes and each feed back was different. Some gave a few more JP and others less. Some of them did nothing at all while a few did the samething as the Chemist Class.

But I don't have the time or attention span to go through each one...

...Oh yea, it also works on the Holy Swordsman class too, T.G. Cid Kicks @$$!

It only works on jobs thats first abilities page scrolles down and only if the cruiser lands on an ability that you don't have enouph jp for.It also can ether subtract some jp or add some jp without exiting the screen usually on Wizard and priest. I've tryed Time mage, Summoner, and Oracle so far (other than Chemist) and its done the glitch and thats my result so far I'll have more info latter when I continue with my game.It seems that I git my ass kicked a lot more when i use the glitch tho.Maybe its just me...

Well, when I used the glitch, my character's seem to level up much faster. I got the Samurai and Ninja classes as early as Chapter 1, although the weapons were not available untill much later. Thank god I bought Martial Arts. Double fist attacks rule!

Oh well... Its the player's choice if they want to cheat...er taking advantage of glitches or not.
