FFT Online?

My imagination runs wild so it hit my head and ask what if there is FFT online. If there is, I wish they ditch the playonline system coz it sucks. FFXI is the first MMO on the series. Hope this is next.

You're certainly not the first to ponder this idea.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't work at all, at least not as a "regular" game.

You can't have strategy RPG like FFT and expect it to work online. What would you do? Pit your party against someone else's party? Yeah, that's awesome, but that would be the only thing available for online play. No other feature of the game would work online. You couldn't do a cooperative story mode, and... well, yeah, that's about it. You would have your group of characters that you level, and that's all there is to it. You'd take turns with the other person moving your characters one at a time. It would be really slow, though I admit it would be fun.

The problem is simply that there's nothing else to do BUT that.

It would be more like a mini-game than anything else. Just a battle.



If they were to ever do it, I'd hope it's simple and cheap. They could certainly use the POL system -- there's no reason for them to change to another system when they've had POL in development since FFIX. Why change something that works? Whether it sucks or not is strictly your opinion. I think it would work just fine. Having a FFT account would be no different from having a Tetra Master account; just another dollar added to your monthly fees.
