No, I don't think it would work. As others have said, just make the next FFT game have some sort of online mode where you can battle other people's parties agaisnt yours or something, but to have a full game based on the FFT concept wouldn't work to me.

Although I wouldn't mind having a Online game based on the FFT world. ^_^

I think it would work as long as they don't make Orlandu as an online accessable character.

I'm not sure honestly. It would be something to look forward to. Especially since the way FFT is. The way the battle are might be long, but Square could possibly add a few things to not make the battles last for a long time. Not only that, but either teaming up with other players or playing against other players would be pretty sweet. But then again, I don't think it would sell that much to gamers. I don't think it would appeal that much.

i think that would be pretty tight!! i love playing online games, and i deff. would like to see FFT come out as an online version!!

It would be awesome, as long as:
1. you could create 6, and only 6 characters.
2. have those 6 as a party if you were to bit them against an opponent player.
3. or choose your personal fav of them, and go about solo and maybe do co-op stuff with other players.
4. and form Clans online with others, and have like a major clan wars thing.

I think the concept is awsome, but as stated, it doesn't have alot of ground to work with, and not to mention terrible lag with the wifi connections. It would be alot of fun to pit your team against another and duke it out though. Provided that the other person actually knows what they're doing and doesn't take 20 minutes to input commands.

I think it would work well, especially if they bring back the speed battle quests from FFTA2. I'm a bit surprised people keep thinking playing other people will take forever, when a time limit could be easily imposed.

if you own FFT for the PSP you can kinda play FFT online in a way, if you own a computer/wireless router setup, you can get on this program that fools your PSP to thinking it's on Ad-hoc mode, and then you can find and join games and play with people you've never met before. If any of you know what XBC is, (its the same thing where you fool your Xbox into thinking its on a LAN connection but it allows you to play games like Halo 1 over the internet) it works just like XBC.

I forgot what the name of it is, but if you would look on the gamefaqs forums, it gets talked about quite a bit there.

Absolutely, yes. The game is a strategy game, obviously. What better way to test your skill than against a real person. I find it fun to rack up your guys and watch the progression but if you can also outwit your opponent or be able to have drawn out matches with rules then it would be fun. The only idea I'd have is for the sake of phoenix downs and all, you get a limit so you can't get up for hours on end. Though then the question of white mages come into play. Where I think it should give you an option to decide if both sides will have them or no.

I'm neutral... The idea would be nice, but it doesn't sound possible at the same time. But of course, I'll be glad to see it up too... Only if its free, lols!

While I see that this thread is age old, I'm still going to reply.

I'd have to say no to this poll though. I'm not a fan of the FF Online experience, nor would I like to see any other FF game go online.
