Would I be correct in thinking that Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is a Gameboy version of the Playstation game Final Fantasy Tatics?
I've never bothered with either of them before so I know nothing about the two, but I'll be buying a DS Lite on the 1st June so I'd be interested in getting a Tactics game. So I just want to make sure that there are only two versions of the game Final Fantasy Tactics, one that was released on the Playstation and one that was released for the Gameboy Advance (with the "Advance" suffix). Other than the platform these games are on, is there any real difference between the two? |

The difference between FFTA and FFT is about as significant as the difference between FF7 and FF8. The characters are different, the story is different, the battle system is different (similar, but not identical), the jobs and abilities are different, and the gameplay is COMPLETELY different. In my humble opinion, FFT is leaps and bounds better than FFTA, but FFTA has a few nice interface improvements. |

Well I don't have a playstation, nor my own TV that I would plug the Playstation into.
But I will be getting a DS Lite next month, and I'm guessing that will still be able to play Gameboy Advance games... |

the difference is that FFT is better than FFTA. FFT has a MUCH better story line and is MUCH more serious. Theres also no laws in FFT which is awesome. And all the classes in FFT are human and thats awesome...

You REALLY need to put more content in your posts, Talhan. Plus read the topic, sure comment on the quality of the games, but this person really wants to know the DIFFERENCE, not just your personal opinion on the games.
Casaubon pretty much sums it up. FFT is the better game. But there was some really fun stuff in FFT-A. FFT has more customization though (namely Naming characters which is helluva fun for making full "Themed" parties) That and the AI in FFT-A is just plain sloppy. It's still fun and worth checking out though. |
