Well if were already to the point of inventing ultimate character (out of boredness Im guessing) I would say Ive always wanted to have Odin as a playable character. You know with changeable weapon and all. Now that would be hardcore because Odin is the shizne my friends. But in reality there is no ultimate characters with the exception of (Huge SPOILER ahead)) Cloud but hes not really some mega strong chracter although I do like his skills though.

All right, another Pally lover (or so I think)...that has a D&D demon name, lol. Also using a RO sprite. Just a reminder: try to develop a bit more your statement, since it is too short. A Knight can be very effective when properly equipped, and his parameter lowering skills can make a difference. Those skills help to make enemies easier, and also help to gain more xp and jp without killing an enemy.

I've never noticed the stat breaks making a difference. In order to drop the target's speed by 50%, for example, it takes like 2-3 hits, which takes about 3-5 turns. The same could be accomplished in one turn by casting Slow. Alternatively, if you had those 3-5 turns, you could easily kill the target just by attacking. If you're trying to JP farm (which I don't approve of) then keeping enemies alive but repeatedly stat breaking them has a place. Otherwise, the only semi-useful Knight ability I can think of is WeaponBreak (this changes on ninjas - two chances to break a stat is much better than one - and chemists - guns).

I presume you've forgotten a thing or two about the stat break skills. You mention that Slow is quicker than 2-3 Speed Breaks, but consider the following: while Slow lasts for a couple of turns, Speed Break effectively murders their speed for the remainder of the battle. And with no MP wasted, only turns which the enemy character will hardly recover. So does Power Break and Mind Break. Also, properly using Magic Break will cause problems to those pesky magicians. Though it is much better as a secondary skill, don't count out the Knight just yet.

Im also gonna have to disagree with awall. First of all I personally really reaped the rewards of the Jp skill that the knight has. Its the fastest way to level up and you can get an early advantage (unless your gay and dont like soing that). I also think that skills like break weapon and so forth can be used very strategically to handicap the enemies (although I like to steal weapons, armor, etc. rather than break them). Despite this I can see where awall comes from. I kinda hate it as well when I see those damn knights miss and waste a turn.

No fans of calculators? They can be quite tricky to use, but once you get a hang of it they can be quite useful.
Apart from those I like classes with a nice variety of skills such as monks and samurais. Ninjas are good too, even though i didn't use them much the first time around because I kept getting him butchered due to his low HP. Second time I went through the game i had them all worked out though. |

Well I wasnt too big on Calculators not necessarilly because of the technical part but just because I like brute force most of the time. Dont get me wrong I like a good combo just like the next guy but I also like doing them with other classes rather than the Calculators.

But I like using different classes and tactics each time I go through the game. Somes times pounding the enemy with brute force, some times using more sopihsticated tactics, and other times a mix of both if you catch my drift. |

I really like the monk the best. There really powerful and have awesome moves. Like there earth slash and how they can heal with chakra. Yet, if i had to pick a mage I'd pick between Wizard or summoner because they both have really good moves as well.
