I think the comparison of FF Tactics to Chess is entirely realistic. The only difference is height is involved as well as basically the idea that all the pieces can mix there skills together to make a piece twice as good as it was. Plus the limitless combination possibilities create a great challenge of trying to overcome the tactical opposition you are against.

I agree mostly with Quina's answer. It is possibly the best game in the whole FF series. The story was so deep and I loved all the intrigue and the fact of not really knowing who was good and who was bad, and all the motivations of the villains was awesome to discover.

It's definitely in my top 3 fav all time FF's, and is easily a possible for the best ever. I think alot of people have a problem with it because it's a different FF from the typical FF's out there, also because this game isn't as easy as a level grinder, you have to be smart to beat this complex and difficult game.

Ugh, I hated that game so much. How could you all like it? No offense or anything but that game sucked, it was boring, you couldn't walk around in the towns or anything, the battle style sucked, and I didn't like it. If you want a FF that's different, play the original Final Fantasy 2. Sorry but I truly hated that game (Tactics) along with the Legends games because they were just boring.

Care to say how? Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it necessarily sucks, just that you don't like it.

If you want a FF that's different, play the original Final Fantasy 2. Sorry but I truly hated that game (Tactics) along with the Legends games because they were just boring.

First of all I have played the original FFII (assuming you are talking about FFIIj not FFII on the SNES). And that battle system in that was different, but boring. Constantly selecting the same spell/weapon/etc. It was nice to sorta customize your game's stats, I liked it even better than FFX as you could balance them out. But still the story just seems so pale in comparison to FF Tactics. And the customization is fun, and the battles are fun.

Oh and FF Legends isn't an actual FF, it's the Saga series.

Is there a problem with not liking the game? I was stating my opinion but I guess that's a little hard to do without having someone automatically assume that I am trying to grab attention. Oh alright. Heh, it's cool man. Okay, I'll provide why I didn't like it.

I didn't like the idea of not being able to walk around in the towns and such. I was used to doing that in the other FF's.

For some reason, I would buy items but I couldn't use them or something. I don't know how to explain it, but I would try to revive someone and it didn't work. So whatever I was doing wrong, kind of added to the frustration.

The battles aren't bad, it's just when I would get outnumbered when I would try to heal and such. Heh, but that's my fault, not the game's. But yeah, the new battle system takes some getting used to for me.

Other than that, yeah, the game's actually alright, I just didn't have the patience for it.

Oh and yeah, I was talking about FF2j. I never got far in that game though....monsters..overwhelmingly strong in the beginning..ack!

Oh and thanks for the info about the Saga games. Did Square actually make those??

I like FFT a lot. i like the playstation one better though. there are a lot cooler jobs in that one. I also like FFT because they all have pretty awesome story lines. The battles are awesome. they arent as fast paced as the other FF games but these battle make u use strategy more than just running into a battle and blowing everything to bits.

I think its cool, it makes you think alot. In other FF's, you just attack without thinking but in FFT you really have to think

This has to be one of my favorite games ever made. Almost everything was done exceptionally well and it turned out to be one very memorable experience. One that is hard to live up to even today. As for FFTA, all I can say is that I was full of dissapointment to find what I feel is a mediocre game.

BACK TO THE TOPIC AT HAND, I absolutely love FFT. I don't know why FFTA came into the conversation, but that one's not bad either. I voted on the poll forever ago (the really good option) but never posted at the time, apparently. How immature of me.
