This is how I beat Ozma

I didn't have to steal every enemy to make my theviery reach 9999 damage or slay tons of dragoons to make Freya's Dragoon Crest make 9999 damage

All what aplayer need is Autolife, Autoreflect, Darkness absorbing armors and accessories and some luck

The idea is to beat him before he curses you, that's the luck I was meaning

Defeating Ozma

There are other ways like using the reurn magic of Amarant and Vivi with Dooms days. But this is the simplest way I did it.

Congratulations Dr I think that even if you prepare and research how to go about defeating Ozma so luck always plays a factor. I've beaten FFIX tons of times but I've only beaten Ozma a couple times, and each of those times were somewhat different, but congrats on your victory mate.

That's good man. I have beat FFIX a ton of times, Ozma always falls. Luck is a major factor, but it is good preparations that seal the deal.

Maybe it's just me being in a bad mood, but that red banner on the video just pissed me off to no end! "Pray that Ozma doesn't use curse.." Gee thanks, what a grade-A strategy! "Stiener(I purposely spelled his name wrong to get the effect) is the MAN!" Once again, thank you for telling me something I knew four discs ago. And the fact that it kept flashing throughout the whole fight, oh man. I know how to decipher information via watching a video over it, it doesn't need to be reinforced by the annoying banner, and if I did need to grasp the ideas again, there is the rewind/replay button too. If you made this video then I am sorry for insulting you, but damn, it just made me angry. [/rant]

Congrats on this victory, Squall. It tooken me several times to take Ozma down when I played the game. As Cid said though, luck is a major factor in the battle as well as a good strategy. Unfortunately, it would've been much easier to have your party's HP exceed of the 9999 limit but nope. Anyways, awesome work.

Congrats dude! Definitely a good accomplishment.

My last playthrough went like this: I took the easy way out and had Return Magic on Vivi and Amarent. Steiner had shock. Zidane just stole. If I remember correctly, he never got a chance to attack Ozma. Absorb darkness. Auto-life, Auto-Reflect, Auto-Regen.

If he doesn't use curse, you're in the clear. Victory!

Anyway I made this video months ago even before joining this forum. I uploaded it recently to youtube as a trial not more than that. I didn't like the banner myself after watching it on youtube. But it was my 1st video to make with the windows movie maker and the 1st to upload to youtube. I had the idea of posting this thread here last Friday as I remember when I was just bored and doing nothing then I said to myself why not to try posting that video here?

I'm glad that many people liked the video here like Phantom, Final Fantsy Fan Cid, Fishie and other people around here and I'm also happy that someone can see the bad things in this video.

A Pumice
It makes you able to Summon Ark
You can get it by synthesisng it from 2 Pumice peaces at Hades' place in Meomria.
It's really not that big prize you can get from a boss like this one.

I beat him without having Dragon Crest, Thievery, or Frog Drop power-up to 9999. My party was Zidane, Dagger, Vivi, and Steiner. All of them wore Shadow-Absorbing equipment to absorb Doomsday. The battle started with Ozma using Doomsday (lucky). Ozma received 9999 damage and Vivi used Return Magic for an additional 9999 damage. Then I had Zidane use Dark Matter and Steiner use Shock. After that, Ozma used Curaga on itself and used curse on everyone else. Steiner died and Zidane was in Trance. Dagger used Curaga and Zidane used Grand Lethal to deal 9999 damage. After that, Ozma used Curse again, but no one died, thankfully. Zidane used Grand Lethal again for another 9999 damage. Finally, Vivi casted Doomsday for about 5000 damage and killed Ozma. It was a long and frustrating fight. I was only level 60 after all. The worst thing was how Ozma didn't drop a Dark Matter and I ended up having no Dark Matters. I already learned Odin, though, so I didn't really care. That was my fight with Ozma.
