Yes Who is better Eiko or Dagger --------->HPs,MPs,STATS<----------------------- Dagger Pros : -Eidolons -White Maic Cons : -The First Boss Will be hard unless you level up to 15 -After the first three bosses your ONLY reliable Offenses will be Ramuh (which is WEAK and costs alot of MP) and reflected spells off Auto-Reflect until the end of Disc II -At the time of the Depression State Dagger can become really undependable -Middle Class HP Overall : Dagger isn't going to be an easy SCC First of all it's HARD to pass the first boss battle of course to pass them you need to LEVEL UP but it's going to be hard with Dagger's crappy Rod and Weak Monsters. And after the first four Bosses your ONLY reliable Offense is Ramuh (which is WEAK and costs alot of MP) and reflected spells until the end of Disc II Difficulty : Hard Tips : -Potions and Hi-Potions are useless because you have Cure,Cura and Curaga unless it's for Auto-Potion. -You can boost your Elemental Summons by equipping Element-Raising equips such as Magus Hat and Red Hat. -BOOST !! this lets you see a full animation of a Summon and thus boost it's power. -Confuse might be a good way to finish random battles faster since enemies will Attack themselves. -Save your Ethers because you'll always need them -Ark is hard to get because you have to beat Ozma OR Hades to get it and it isn't worth it so stick with Bahamut. -Bahamut vs. Leviathan : 1-Bahamut is more powerful in general. 2-Leviathan can be made MORE powerful w/Pearl Rouge and/or Golden Hairpin. 3-If you want 99 Garnets you'll need 99 Ores + 99 Remedies but if you want 99 Aquamarines you'll need to have 495 Ores ... a PAIN !!! 4-Leviathan costs 42 MP while Bahamut costs 56 MP so choose whats better for you. -Odin can Instant-Death random monsters so it's useful. -Auto-Reflect is useful for causing Damage. -The Depression State ... What can you do about it ?? Let's see You'll have to do TWO places : Dessert Palace : Vaila Pira : Beat him w/Leviathan AND Mt.Gulug (Luckily you won't have to fight the Boss there) so you can get around it. -Keep Dagger in the Back-Row always. -Robe of Lords give you high Defense and a Boost in Magic Defense and all Primary status so it's useful (Although you can't get it until Disc 4) -Reflect-Null works great if you use it in conjunction with Auto-Reflect since you can use Curaga without having it Reflected. -Ending suggested setup : Magic Racket (Magic Boost) Circlet Dragon Wrist / Magic Armlet Robe of Lords Rosetta Ring Auto-Life / Auto-Potion / Auto-Haste / Auto-Regen / Boost Eiko Pros : -Very good white magic Cons : -Very Limited forms of attacking (Fenrir-Holy-Madeen) -Low HP -Starts Fairly Late .. Overall : Eiko is one of the hardest SCCs as her only forms of attacking (other than the Attack command) are Fenrir,Holy and Madeen (remember that you can't use Phoenix since it will revive your party members). Difficulty : Hard but ALOT easier than Dagger Tips : -Potions and Hi-Potions are useless because you have Cure,Cura and Curaga unless it's for Auto-Potion. -Boost lets you see a full animation of a Summon and thus boost it's power but by the time you get it you'll already have Holy. -Confuse might be a good way to finish random battles faster since enemies will Attack themselves. -Fenrir's very useful in Disc II (In fact it's the only practical attacking method at that time) -HOLY !!! Get the White Robe as early as you can (After getting Blue Narcisass by getting White Robe from Chocobo H&C -Keep Eiko in the Back-Row always. -Robe of Lords give you high Defense and a Boost in Magic Defense and all Primary status so it's useful (Although you can't get it until Disc 4) -Reflect-Null works great if you use it in conjunction with Auto-Reflect since you can use Curaga without having it Reflected. -Ending suggested setup : Magic Racket (Magic Boost + Raises Holy's power) Circlet Dragon Wrist / Magic Armlet Robe of Lords Rosetta Ring Auto-Life / Auto-Potion / Auto-Haste / Auto-Regen Yeah ... I copied lots of things from the Dagger section ...

Inventory | Wow you typed down a lot of stuff! It is pretty hard to decide. They are both pretty good. Dagger is good with attacking with Eilodons, and Eiko is good with healing. I personally think that Dagger is better. Dagger has better forms of attack and can heal just about as good as Eiko. I also think that Dagger has some better stats if I can remember right. I like to use both of them though.

Very Nice, Very Nice indeed Your the first person I know who put down the pros and cons of a thread like this. Well, judging from the stats of them both, Eiko would have to be my choice. She really gains access to better white magic spells like Holy and hot summon spells like Carby ( aka Carbuncle ) and Madeen. I love Eiko, but I still give some props to Dagger as well.

Inventory | I used Eiko for Carbuncle. So you could use the Reflect + Water combination. That always inflicted 9999, which was handy.

Inventory | Dagger all the way! She had much better Eidolins, such as bahamut, and Odin. Also she has a higher attack power and a much deeper storyline. Plus she is Incredibly SEXY!

Inventory | Wow, you actually wrote down all their stats and everything O_O Based on my six files (I play IX once every year), I would have to say Eiko is better. Not in terms of summons, of course, but she gets stronger white magic before Garnet does and she's able to learn Holy. Plus, for a portion of the story Garnet has the annoying habit of not being able to concentrate, and that just plain sucks. I adore Garnet as a character, she's my favorite female character in the FF games, but I never play as her except when I have to. And frankly, I think both of them are useless. Summons in IX are a joke and white magic is unnecessary due to the easier nature of the game and the amount of curative items the game throws at you.

However, after playing through the game, and doing all the quests, its seriously just easier to ditch the white mage. Vivi's Doomsday can be awesome in battle, if everybody has Shadow Absorb Armour too.

| Amor fati. | I have to say Eiko on this one. She can use the better part of the better Eidolons, and she has a better selection of magic as default. Although Dagger's physical attack is obviously superior, magic-wise, Eiko takes the cake. She also seems to have a better evade than Dagger does... But that's based entirely on what I've seen recently. Haven't really looked at the stats on that one. I find that I use Dagger more for physical with a little summoning and Eiko more for summoning with a little healing and very very rarely a physical attack. Like when I want to get a low level monster weak enough for Quina to eat without killing it. So overall, I have to say Eiko's the better. | ||||||||

Inventory | If you actually use Dagger from the start, then by the time you get Eiko you should be strong enough on her to not even need to think about using Eiko. Also I don't agree with the idea of you only have Ramuh by the end of disc 2, because I seem to recall having two or three of her summons by then. I only recall this because by the time I had her learn Ramuh I swicthed to learn another summon. And in all reality by the time she learned each summon I had the gem for the next summon. But I do play chocobo hot and cold a lot.. so that might be why... In all realitiy the only purpose of either Eiko or Garnet on my team is to heal, and with Freya using Rein's Wind I don't find myself even needing to do that much. With that said I think either is fine and its really more based on what you find more pleasing to the eye. A midget or a beauty =p

Inventory | I loved Dagger. For me part of using a charactor means liking them as a story line character too, and I abhor Eiko in the story. Based on her White magic, dagger may have less power, but for once I will take less power over more.

Inventory | It depends on the circumstances, I suppose. In-game, I actively prefer Eiko. Her superior white magic comes in considerably more helpful with the way I play than Garnet's superior summoning abilities. However, when it comes to thier personalities, I prefer the more mature approach of Garnet, to Eiko's more childlike tenancies. (And in terms of icon-making, I vastly prefer Eiko's cuteness.

Inventory | That's a little too thorough.....you could have just said the basics ._. ........ Personality wise, I'd go with Dagger. Eiko and her crush sort of annoyed me lol. Magic wise however, I liked Eiko more. She had more HP (somehow), didn't die so easy, her regular attack was slightly higher, her magic was not just healing like Dagger but had Holy which I loved. And her summons were cooler. Plus her trance where she could do two magic's was very useful.

| Genocide Unfolds, I Forgive All | They're both good for different things. Eiko's a more interesting character in terms of her personality, but she's weak when not using magic or Eidolons. Dagger probably has a better attacking power than Eiko, but then again, neither of them are really used for attacking purposes anyway... I have no opinion in this. They're both good characters. Both have their pro's and con's, but neither of them win in my opinion. | ||||||||

| Royal Guard | I just used Garnet for her healing skills and summons. I never used Eiko, nor did I ever like the little brat. Her and her crush on Zidane annoyed the crap out of me. And I felt bad for those poor little moogles she ordered around, too. Spoiled little brat. Now that I think about it, she sort of reminds me of the main female character in that movie The Dark Crystal.. | ||||||||

Inventory | I, personally, found Dagger to be much more useful, even during her depressed phase. Sure neither of them could attack worth a damn, and in my RPG's I'm all about the strength and speed stats, but I think that may be the reason for my choice. As far as support summons go, Eiko has it all with Carbuncle, but to really enjoy summoning a creature thats only good for buffs, you have to be the kind of person that uses white magic for more than just healing. I'm not. When I summon something onto the screen I want it to do mass damage...un-absorbable mass damage preferably. Thus Garnet, being more of a summoner than a white mage is more useful to me. Even her trance is more useful. Eiko can double cast white magic...ok...well there's only so much you can heal your party before your just wasting MP. Where as with Garnet, if you summon a few powerful creatures during her trance and then stop using her entirely, instead using other characters to heal and attack, her summons will continuously trounce the enemy until she's killed or otherwise disabled. That and she gets n interesting one piece in her trance form...which better than Eiko and her *ahem* enlarged horn. So yeah, I just ended up using Garnet as a summoner. My main healer was actually Amarant, because of his chakra ability that recovers HP and MP and aura because its the cheapest and easiest way to put someone in autolife.

Inventory | To me, Dagger was way better because she had better skills like Eidolons and she held out longer than Eiko could. Also, Dagger was always one of my favorite characters in the game and I had her in my party even when she had those stupid "can't concentrate" meassages. Plus, Eiko is so annoying!!

I prefered Dagger cos of her role and her eidolons... only bad thing in her trance mode was when i used Ark... omg 5 mins animation !!!!! well at least my chars always got their HP full cos of that lol (auto-regen !)
