I think Vivi stopped but, as strongly as it is implied though, the game never actually says that he stops.

Also, how the hell does a doll reproduce?
Forgot how Black Mages are created in IX?

How do you know that one of those "vivi's" walking by at the end of the game or cheering in the stands wasn't him? they all look the same T_T

Yes, Vivi dies by the time of the game's ending. Foreshadowing earlier in the
game hints toward his demise as it is revealed that the Black Mages have a far
shorter lifespan than the rest of Gaia's dominant races, usually dying around
a year after being created. In Vivi's case, of course, he has lived to be nine
years old, but we learn that he was the prototype of the Black Mages, and --
according to Kuja, the Black Mages' maker -- would live longer as a result.
However, the indication offered is that Vivi's lifespan is still more limited
than that of races such as Dagger's and Freya's: (..... )

Maybe he didn't really get it on with Quina. The game hints at that, but maybe he "created" all his kids, ala the Black Mages style in a factory.

I think that Vivi just went and made copies of himself before he stopped. Sure, the mist stopped being produced but mist can remain for a long time (in places like Gargan Roo). I used to be confused about what happened to Vivi but apparently the Japanese version of the game makes it more clear that Vivi is the one speaking at the end of the game and that he is about to pass away.

I think he really stopped at the end.I mean yea its sad and all but who knows?I think that they were his actual sons that he may have created right before he...passed on.Either way.......I WILL MISS U VIVI!!!! =(
