did you ever use eidolons?

I think like everyone else said..i rarely if ever used eidolons. I think I used them to see what they look like..but i never actually HAD to use them, they were pretty weak.

not very often - normally relied on the strength of other characters....

they were pretty cool though!

No I didn't use Eidolons, I didn't need to because my Steiner and Freya were strong enough anyway.

The animations were cool for summoning them were mega cool, I liked Atomos. This big mouth thing, whatever it was it was cool.

I reckon Odin was a bit of a let down though but they were cool.

i didnt understand odin, i actually restarted my save when i got him, but didnt get him, that was the first time i played through ^_^

No, But not because they are crap. The reason I did'nt use my Eidolons is that I wanted to keep them in their so called 'Perfect' status (You see the entire summon entrance). This is the problem with being a perfectionist.

I use eidolons, but only when I'm power-leveling thus fighting a lot or when I can't be bothered with actually fighting, I just summon and finish the battle in a second.

I do use Carbuncle fairly often, though, I always find it useful.

I never really used them in normal run-of-the-mill battles, but I did however use them later on. Foes like Behemoth needed to be taken out swiftly through fear of Meteor, so Blizzaga and trusty Shiva were at hand.

So yeah, in tough battles and boss fights. Mainly for elemental weaknesses, otherwise I'm Bahamut and Ark all the way.

I use eidolons quite a bit actually just cuz they seem to do mass ammounts of damage, when ur at certain parts in the game, it does get annoying having to consume that much mp though especially since Ethers are so scarse in that game!

No. I thought the animation graphics were awful and I didn't like the shifty and low amount of damage they caused.

I thought they were pretty gay. I doubt I've evern seen all of the animations, that's how much I didn't use them.

Physical attacks and magic gets me by just fine, thanks!

Once I grew up and realized Garnet sucked, I never used her Ediolons again. Garnet sucks because Ark's damage cap is 9999. Steiner and Amarant easily match it for Free! (Which is why I hate free attacking).

Eiko's Ediolons suck compared to her White Magic. She can use HOLY. and FULL LIFE. Garnet stops at what, Curaga?

So yeah, once I grew up and realized FF9 summons SUCK HORRIBLY I never used them again.

The animations are cool, but | just dont have the patience to sit through all of it, everytime.

*Yeah use summons and no matter what anybody says they are cool,too bad you can skip them when your tired of the time consuming effects.but yeah i still use them because theyre fun and theyre unique from the normal attacks,limit breaks and magic.

*You guys know what a real cool thing would be with summons...if they could fuse together and form an even more powerful summon.....for instance Ifrit and Shiva could fuse into..."Shifrit"...or something and they would be the masters of fire and water completely invulnerable to eachothers weaknesses.nice huh!

It depends, really. I remember using Ark and Madeen a lot in the final battle against Kuja.

What really annoyed me was just how pointless it was to recieve Shiva and Ifrit so late in the game. They weren't exactly powerful, and it just felt like they were there for show.

The only eidolon i used frequently in the game was bahamut....not cause i liked it but cause Dagger was one of my best and i dont like to use white magic....

I used summons. I thought they were awesome even if they were just as good as some people's normal attacks. I also didn't like that you got the ediolons so late. The first few were pretty much useless.

In first time i don't find summons in FFIX, and battle with final bosses be engaged a 1,5 hour... I won this battle without summons...
On the second time i finding all summons, but the game be it's so easy...

Eidolons in Final Fantasy IX weren't that powerful later on in the game, but when you first get them they can be rather useful.

I really liked their animations, though, apart from Ark's, reminded me of Power Rangers.

Madeen was my favourite Eidolon, such a unique summon. Too bad they didn't let us use Alexander, it looked so much cooler than in FFVII and VIII.

Well,there is no reason to use eidolons in IX.It's rare,but it's one of those games where summoning isn't that helpfull.Why use your MP to inflict 2000 Hp on the enemy?Use it on white magic,it's more helpfull.

Besides,they didn't even have a proper summoning cut scene & they were ugly too.

I almost never used them.
