like any optional boss, i find it useful training my party as much as i can until it gets so hard for them to level its tedious. Then, make sure you have at least one healer. I chose garnet, so when she has her limit you can have an eidolon attacking whilst she heals the party. Throw all your power at Ozma and eventually it should die.

Abilities:
I used a party of Zidane, Vivi, Amarant and Garnet. I suggest using your strongest people, but i'll say why each of these characters are good to use.
Vivi
Vivi's flare works a treat, and meteors good when it hits. his limit break is also effective, and when his MP goes low, just use ozmose.
Garnet
White magic is essential for the battle. And as you already know there are 2 white magic users; Garnet and Eiko. Garnets limit break comes in handy when the party has good health (over 1,2 HP). Summon an eidolon such as Bahamut or Atomos (make sure you have lots of amethyst to get atomos to do 9999 damage). Then, you can focus on healing the party. The eidolon will continue to be summoned whilst she is still in limit break status.

Amarant
Amarants good because he can be used for offense and defense. His attack power is strong, but also his chakra skill works a treat for restoring HP and MP to back-up the white magic user. Also, if the white magic user faints, use revive on her.

Next i'll cover abilities:
Abilities
- equip reflect, rflct-null (this lets you cure the party still), and return magic. Since ozma is a strict magic user, these are almost essential to equip.

As for other abililities, auto potion and auto-regan are useful, and just equip anything else that you think could be useful.

Hope that helps you, and if you need anymore help on Final Fantasy VI-IX, feel free to PM me.

I dont really get your question... What do you mean by "you play the game never changing your equipment ever"???
And what the hell is Glory spear,sword...
Is it like a strong weapon you can get by not changing your equipment?
Im really confused...

Here are some hints on Ozma:

- you dont really need a healer if your absorbing Shadow/Holy Elem-Atk. The only problem is Meteor, but this usually destroys your entire party if it doesnt miss so the healer's dead too.

- Dont put Auto-haste on, it makes Ozma a lot faster too... Auto-regen and Auto-life are musts, surtenely when you're trying to beat him with only 1 character...

- Go all offensive, don't waste too much time on healing.

- Killing Ozma with only 3 characters is perfectly doable. (I had Zidane, Steiner, Freya and Vivi and I just let Vivi use elixirs and stuff...)

9999 damage guaranteed (even in backrow):
-Freya: Dragon's Crest: Kill 100 Dragon-type beasts. Then Freya will always inflict 9999 dmg with Dragon's crest even when Mini and in back row

-Zidane: Thievery: For every item you have stolen, you inflict half of your speed. So the damage is Speed x Stolen items / 2

-Steiner: Shock: Almost Always inflicts 9999 damage though it might be a bit less in the backrow... (in that case try to set Long Reach)

If you need any help on Ozma, contact me and Ill be glad to help

Uh... i thought you said you needed help? Anyway, both are good strategies. My strategy worked for me against Ozma and other bosses and Ragnaroks worked for him. Maybe try a combination of the two. Oh and dont forget to equip the shadow absorbants!

Heres the party I used to defeat Ozma.Zidane,Vivi,Eieko and Stiener.Vivi-Three words Firaga,Blizaga and Thundaga reflected off the party + Vivi's Reflectx2 abillitie and youll do max damage-.Eiko-have her sommon carbuncle not only will it reflect Ozma's magic but if Vivi targets the party his as well when shes not sommoning carbuncle shes sommoning Madeen to do damge-. Steiner-make sure hes equiped with a Ragnarok (or save the queen, exalabur, exalbur II)he will be attacking and using mind break on Ozma-.Zidane-unless hes tranced he will mainly be attacking like Stiener or if your party is in abosolute need of healing and your afraid one of Eiko's Cures will be reflected(do to reflect) have him use sacrifice Eiko can use Full-Life on him later-.Now for what support abillities you should have set and why. Zidane- [auto potion:so you dont have to worry about healing.Make sure you have alot of potions.][protect girls:if Eiko's hp is low Zidane will take the hit][couter:when zidane does cover for Eiko or is attacked hell get a free hit at Ozma][add status:depending on what you have equiped this could really aid you in battle].Stiener-[cover:will protect any party member if thier HP is low][counter:just like zidane's but more versitle][auto potion:you dont have to worry about healing.make sure you have alot of potions.][mp attack:uses mp to increase Stiener's attack.].Vivi-[loud mouth:cant be silenced.][clear headed:cant be confused.][Reflectx2:spells that Vivi reflects are 2 times stronger than normal][auto potion:you dont have to worry about healing.Make sure you have alot of potions.].Eiko-[spirit flow(or somthing like that):shows the entire sommon movie to do pretty strong damge.][conserve mp:spells use half the mp they used to.][auto potion:you dont have to worry about healing.Make sure you have alot of potions.].Good luck killing Ozma

You should definitely set the following abilities before entering battle:
- Auto-regen
- Auto-life
- Insomniac
- Clear Headed
- Antibody (if you want)
- Bright Eyes (for Steiner, he should be the only one who uses normal Attacks)
- Loudmouth (For the magicians in your party, though thats not a very good idea for this battle)

You should use the following skills during battle:
- Zidane: Thievery (If you have stolen enough during the game this should inflict 9999 dmg. The dmg works like this: Speed/2 X items stolen)
- Freya: Dragon's Crest: Dmg works liek this: Dragons killed². Just kill 100 dragons and your dmg is 9999)
- Steiner: Shock or Climhazzard if cursed.
- Amarant: Throw: Rising Sun / Eiko: HEAL!!! / Vivi: Doomsday

You should equip everyone with Dark absorbing equipment like a Pumice Piece or Ninja Gear I think. When Ozma (or Vivi) casts Doomsday, it will inflict Dark Dmg to everyone. So make sure this spell heals you by equipping the right things...

Think about this before training your characters too much: Ozma uses Lvl5 DEATH, so NO characters whos lvl is dividable by 5.

Flare Star dmg: Characters Lvl X 50. I beat Ozma several times at average Lvl 70. (I even defeated him without any ability set...)

Read all the prevoius Ozma hints posted in this thread, they could come in handy and I dont feel like copying them all

If you want less challenge in Ozma:

Meet all the friendly Monsters, then the friendly Yan and it says : Now you can hit the round guy:
You'll be able to hit Ozma with normal attacks and if I remember well he won't absorb Shadow dmg anymore and he'll be vulnerable to Holy dmg.
