The characters in this game are what made it so great, the great story helped it along though. This game is probably the most underated final fantasy game there is.

As for the game, I really like all the characters, but Vivi makes the sh*t of all the characters. He had a nice background and kicks a** in battle.

Bahamut! I don't like FFIX's characters in general, none are interesting IMO, Vivi is irritating, he's not even a human, he's nothing. Zidane was such a huge letdown after watching Clouds and Squalls incredible stories.

hells yeah man i loved all the characters in this game. Well....I never was too crazy about the guy with red hair whose name i can't remember at the moment >< but the storylines were great for all the characters which really helped make the game very enjoyable.

It's not just one character that makes the game great. It's the whole group, they all have something to fight for, and are surviving against all odds. It's great motivation for playing, and it makes the game 20 times cooler to play.

Each character provides something different.. thats what makes it better than the two FF's that come before it...

In FF7/8 the characters started out uniquely, but in the end became the same thing, just another materia/junction board that had to be changed after a few battles.

In FF9 the characters stay involved in the story until the end. Even in the last dungeon, Garnet remains inquisitive and Quina acts like a dork. Even the various Secondary characters were worthy of notion, such as Lady Beatrix (HOTTEST FF BABE), and the Tantalus Brothers, Cinna (Fattie), Marcus (Tusks?) and Blank (Can't see!)

Fun Game = Fun Characters.

well i voted bahamut, he porved his badassness a hundred times over in this game, taking out so many and so damn huge, too bad when you summon him he doesnt look anywhere near as cool.. the characters at times it hought dragged the story down... and nothing wrong with vivi, he just isnt bahamut...

I too love ALL the characters. Kuja is, of course, my favorite. But all the characters were amazing ^.^

Well I don't know as far as raping goes (I'm a guy) but I didn't like all of the charaters, I actually liked Vivi, by saying I liked all of them I'd be saying I like Brahne. (Hmmmm raping Vivi... Maybe once... Just kidding .)

ah all the characters were great i liked them all even the randoms walking around in the street they had soo much character to them wich made the game alot more fun to play and kuja had the best personality for a bad guy in the ff series he always spoke so poeticly

and also the card game was alright it gtes repetative though 8's was the best and i recon one of the best characters was general beatrix or freya

I don't think Amarant, Freya, or Quina contributed much to the story. They were just there.

Vivi was a very memorable character. I grew very interested in his background and personality in general. Just, a great character with great development. Proving that one doesn't need to be a complete bad ass to be a great FF character.

Bahamut is just beast in general. ^.^

The characters were ok in this game. I just wish you didn't have Eiko cuz she's the brat of the group. lolz

The characters in IX are fantastic, they made the game, my favorites being Zidane, Vivi and Garnet.

Zidane: I liked him alot, he's a nice normal guy who likes women and cares about his friends a whole lot. I can relate to him way more than amnesiacs or grumpy emos with big swords.

Garnet: is my favorite female FF character ever, I just loved her personality. It was great that even though she was royalty, she wasn't stuck up and tried her best to become stronger and learn more things about the world.

Vivi: naturally he's adorable, but he's so much more. Sure, the little guy mighta been depressed, but I'm pretty sure ANYONE would be after finding out his origins. Plus, even though he was sad, he didn't run away from his origin or from Kuja, he kept fighting for himself and for his fellow black mages. Plus his spells were badass, especially Doomsday.

I love FFIX's characters. Vengeful Ronin's post pretty much sums up what I feel about my favourite three characters of the game.
