FFIV Sequel may be coming to the US after all! Europe too!

Now I feel bad at looking up some of those chapter summaries. S-E has a filed a patent titled the "After Years" for Europe. It's just been filed for the US as well. Strong speculations suggest this will be a Wiiware/XBLA/PS3N title.

Sweet hopefully this comes to be! I was really disappointed when I heard it was supose to be specific to one area of the world. Hopefully we some more updates here pretty quick.

I hope it's for the DS, as opposed to mobile phones cause there are so many different british phone compananies and some of them might not agree to have it.

Also I really don't have a decent phone for playing games on, so I would be pretty screwed.

I still do hope it comes out though, just so long as they don't make it too cheesy or anything. (A la x-2).

lol at mobile phone games, if they are going to make game for a phone...just make it for DS or any of those hand held consoles.

Agreed, I'm praying for DS release as well, can't wait to try this as I'm big fan of FFIV, so its important they don't waste on a phone. Besides they'll loose money since hardly anyone who wants the game will have the phone for it. DS FTW!

It won't be for Phone(at least not phone only), no plays phone games here. We don't have high tech super advanced phones like japan. I just hope S-E knows that.

I'm very happy about it as well, and what I got from news articles is that it will be a WiiWare title. One more reason to get a Wii for me. First Reason: DRAGON QUEST X!!!!!!!!!

Looks promising ,though my only problem is I doubt they can make it as epic as the original, and it's really no fun to play a sequel knowing the first one was superior, especially when the storyline is just a follow-up of the original. (FF X-2/Advent Children?)

If this sequel is as long as the original game, I think they should make for the DS, If it's shorter than they should make a download game for the DSi

I heard it's a 2D game. I really hoped that it would be at least like the FFIV DS version. but oh well. Anything's good for me. I've played other 2D ff games before. I was really excited about this! I can't wait to see how the game is. Any idea when it's coming out? When I heard this news, I was in such a good mood, seriously.

Finally!! Well, that was expected of them. However, there's a bad idea, a horrible idea, a good idea, and a great idea from that.

Good idea: they brought the game here, for the WiiWare, which means it's enhanced to the graphical settings of the GBA version. As far as I've seen it, it's graphically better and different than the cellphone version.

Bad idea: so far, it's only WiiWare. So that means, either you get a Wii or you lose the chance. Nice job, Squeenix...

Great idea: this game alone is a magnificent reason why to buy a Wii. Seriously, it's like buying the 360 for Castle Crashers: no matter what people think, if they think it's a horrible reason why to, it's a link (no pun intended) to other wonderful Wii games. Such as...Twilight Princess, or Smash Brothers.

Horrible idea: ...but they could have spent that providing the game for the new DSi, which needs a wonderful reason why to be bought aside from being a PSP clone from Nintendo. Send it to DSi as well, and you have enough reasons why to change from DS to DSi and lose the GBA slot in the process.

So really, while this news would make me leap of joy, I somehow feel unable to do so. Also, I've been following the development of this game a bit, and it's bizarre at best. If anything, I find the game to be rather short. Maybe that's me. Though I haven't played it, which means I can't really say if it's short or not, but it gives that impression.

I'm expecting it to be a dual Wii/DSi-Ware launch.

Speaking of which, the DSi is so freaking neat. Neat is a good word for it. Neat.

It'll be great for ports and projects like these in the future.
