How to kill flame dogs?

I'm now at babil tower (sorry if misspelled) and I'm having a real hard time killing these flame dogs with their scorche attack.. what do I do now? Why are they THAT strong? Whats the trick? Thanks!

You should come across a Icebrand (or w/e its renamed to now) in the Tower of Babil, the Flame Dogs are naturally weak to Ice and will take increased damage to the Icebrand and/or Blizzard spells in general. As for their 'Flame' ability, just have to wear it dude ~ Shell doesnt really do much in these fights until its cast multiple times and by then, you may well be dead lol.

Also helps if you got alot of levels behind your crew.

but why are they that strong? they got like 3000 HP+

i think its because of the flame equipment you have on. Hope you bought enough healing items and are at decent levels. around this point of the game, most my characters would be at level 50 and the other one (cecil) would be at level 70.

The way they made the game fella ^^

I suppose by that far into the game the developers programmed it to fit an average level, most playthroughs my characters were in the 25~29 level gap with not too much difficulty.

The monster is actually called a Flamehound, and you should find the Icebrand and the Ice Lance in Tower of Babil.

The obvious answer is that Flame Dogs' weakness is Ice-based attacks and spells.

Do what I did. Be about 20 levels higher than the story wants you to be. Even then, you'll probably burst in to tears later. Thought you'd seen the last of those overpowered dogs? Think again.
