I found an interesting article on Joystiq stating the possibility of the infamous Final Fantasy IV getting ported to the Nintendo DS for North America. I know it's April 1st, but hey, it's worth a look. Here is the full article

Role-playing fans can slip on their dancing shoes and party like it's 1991. A new interview with Final Fantasy IV director Takashi Tokita in the latest Nintendo Power seems to point to the game's recent DS remake being localized for North American audiences. Oh sure, he doesn't come right out and confirm the localization -- where's the drama in that? -- but given that the article comes peppered with English language screens and the game itself is featured on the cover, we're certainly leaning towards believing that the RPG will soon be getting some domestic love.

Tokita also toys with our emotions, speaking to the possibility of a remake of SNES RPG classic Chrono Trigger provided "the demand is great enough." Though like coming down hard off a caffeine high, he sends us crashing back down to earth by adding that he really wants to "create new titles and not just series installments and remakes."

Uhh, where have you been Fuzz, the FFIV remake has been out in Japan for a while, we've got confirmation of it heading to the US. I think you meant CT remake for the DS as a possibility.

Sorry, I should have cleared up the title better, haha. I thought it wasn't ported to the US yet? and now there are hints about that actually going to happen, along side the CT remake.

well i hope it comes to england, i quite enjoyed the ffIII remake on the ds, i still cant wait for ffXIII tho! bring on the final fantasys!!!!

According to GameFAQs, the DS version of Final Fantasy IV will definitly(sp) see a North American release in July. As for Europe and Australia, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm not sure if it had been announced before. I hadn't heard it announced, even though some places supposedly already knew about it. But there it is, straight from SE's site. I can't wait to get this! I've been waiting so long for it. I just recently got FF3 as well, and I'm really enjoying that. I don't think I'll be disappointed with this one.

Yeah, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an Aussie release too, hopefully it won't come out six months after the US release because I know how slow we are with getting games. July for the US? That sounds pretty good, not long for some of you guys to wait now eh? I'm very much looking forward to getting it!

CC, this is where Aussies can be happy. The games on DS (as well as PSP) aren't region locked. There are several sites we'll be able to purchase the game from right away, AND that said I've already had a go at the Jap one. Too bad I don't know Japanese. ><

NICE! Wow, Nintendo did something good for us. Now we can play it the same time! That's really awesome and I'm glad that the DS is region free, smartest thing ever. I don't think I would get the Japanese version though.. I would be very lost from start to finish. Now I wish they had Japanese in high school. -_- Oh well, I'm happy to hear that. ^_^

Yep. Like SaliorCallie said, FFIV is hitting the US market July. 22 that is. I went on this game site and it gave me a decent amount of info http://www.forever-fantasy.net/modul...onteudo&pid=22. I reall y can;t that long even though it's two days away from my birthday. I played FFIII on DS and that game's storyline was kinda short, but I really enjoyed that game. The graphics look oh so tighht and the battle system was more then decent. Not to mention you could make everyone change and master different jobs.

FFIV is one of my favorites so I will be having this game in my grasp!
