I would post this in my General News topic, but no one looks at this anymore. Apparently, Square Enix is going to soon reveal a remake of FFIV for the DS, it'll be done the same style and the same team as the FFIII remake.
So what do you FFIV fans think? For one thing I wouldn't mind seeing Yoshida, the FFXII artist offer his take on the FFIV characters, and just experiencing FFIV in a new way would be awesome. |

Well the S-E party is this weekend, and they've SPECIFICALLY said that Nintendo owners/fans are going to be really happy.
The news comes from a reliable, a VERY reliable, Japanese Blog site that has previously predicted things like FFXII: RW, the FFI+II PSP remakes, the Chocobo Game, and others http://ff13vids.jugem.jp/?eid=804 (they also say FFXII International will be revealed soon) |

This is great news for the world of FF. As for the 3d upgrade, i would love to see the game from another perspective than the typicasl overhead view. You do say that the source is very reliable, but they did release FF$-advance not too long ago, would they really remake a new one? If so would it contain FF4-Advance bonus dungeons as well as new sidequests?
So excited!

when they have screenshots of ffiv, are you going to put it up Cain Highwind? I sense that final fantasy has taken a very big turn since the 3d remake of the unreleased FFIII. this could be either very good or very bad. the very good part of it is that people will see the game as a new game and will demand more of it. the very bad thing about it is people would want more and more good graphic final fantasy game rather than the old version ones and thus it would ruin the series.

I'm a bit upset, these games should have been remade for DS originally instead of going to GBA. I can understand the first set of remakes, but it just seems like SE is just trying to milk the series now for all that its worth.

Wow this is good news.
The screenshot of Cecil looks pretty sweet. Graphics remind me of Radiata Stories in a way, but this is definitely great news. I hope they add in some new summons, magic, dungeons, side-quests, and all that stuff. Lone Paladin does bring up a good point though. Square should've just remade them on the DS instead of the GBA, but as long as I get my FFIV and FFVI then I'm good.

It's a longshot, but MAYBE, there'll be some kind of cross-platform unlockable. This feature isn't new in DS games. Where you can get bonus material in a DS game by plugging in a certain GBA cartridge. Either way THIS is what I wanted in the first place, I really got bored playing FFIV on GBA even with the nice tweaks here and there, so I'm thinking more along the lines of "Finally!" as opposed to "Again?" |

This is indeed a twist in the Saga o_o..
Dawezy has much to ponder, should I grab a DS solely for this release? or grab a GBA and get the FFIV Advance~ the ROMs are cool but the only do so much. But I must critisize somewhat since I am partial to the original and such, with Amano's art-style for all these characters back in the books and all that jazz makes THAT Cecil in those Screenshots look like some.... disfigured... puppet, with a wierd paint-job. I know they may release more pictures then they have right now but thats my general view of the current snaps~ I'll admit I wasnt too much into the GBA release either, hell, I've barely touched the ROM so I havent gotten into the end-game extras that have been vouched for so highly. |
