Re-release?

I just bought a Game Boy Advance to play Final Fantasy I & II - the Dawn of Souls.

I was a little perturbed when I realized that Final Fantasy II wasn't the game I played on my Super NES and instead the Japanese original II.

I played Final Fantasy on the original NES way back when. I also played Final Fantasy II and III on the Super NES. I liked II better than III because II was so long and involved and I thought III was too easy. I jumped at the chance to get Final Fantasy I and II again.

How can we the gaming public convince Square-Enix to re-release Final Fantasy IV? It would be great if it were for the GBA, but I would love to see Final Fantasy I-VI out on some system.

When were the other games re-released? What were they called? Are they still available? What would a Playstation cost?

I also saw it was re-released in Japan on the Wonderswan. Couldn't the game be on the GBA?

Please don't double-post, people get annoyed when you do that. Use the edit button instead.

Anyway, the other games were rereleased a few years back.

Final Fantasy Origins - I and II, Playstation
Final Fantasy Anthology - V and VI, Playstation
Final Fantasy Chronicles - IV and Chrono Trigger, Playstation

They are available at used game stores. I haven't seen any in major retailers like Wal-Mart for some time now, but stores like Electronics Boutique and Game Stop will have a copy or two laying around if you're lucky.

The original Playstation is dirt cheap nowadays, if you can find one. Last I checked they were going for some insanely low price. I have a PS2 though so I haven't had a need to pay attention to the prices.

As for why they haven't rereleased more old school Final Fantasy games on GBA...well, you'd have to ask the company. You could probably check any gaming news sites to find out if they have future plans.

Well, if this keep going as they're now, we'll most probably see Final Fantasy IV in the Nintendo DS as there's already plans on releasing Final Fantasy III and Square-Enix is on a re-release rampage.

I've no idea how much a DS costs, so that you can find in any site such as Ebay or Amazon so don't bug my soul

In the future, edit your post instead of double posting, please.

Anyway, I always say they should release Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy Mystic Quest as the last of the PlayStation game packages, like they did with Final Fantasy Origins, Chronicles, and Anthology. They cost little to make, and make money. Go for it.

You'd actually be lucky to find any of the re-releases on the PSOne these days. I'm not sure if they stopped production or not but you hardly ever see it on the shelves of EB and the likes of stores like that. I'm sure you could order it direct from SE themselves but eh.. I'll encourage you to go out and buy them, all of them, because they just rock.

I COMMAND YOU!

DO IT!

XD

Oh, and I'll fix your post up.

Yarr MR Aussie is right, for a change! However I have seen it myself at places like GameCrazy and Game stop. I myself picked up a neworz copy of Origins. Which is ok, but runsd slower than my WSC emu copy ( frameskip ownz) but heck, you can find them all over the place online ya know? Just stick it in a search engine or look on EBay..and I guarantee, it'll show up there.

I just consider myself lucky to have purchased Final Fantasy Chronicles when it first came out 4 years ago. I've enjoyed both Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger on the PSX because of it's replay value. I've never looked back since.
