Inventory  | I would have to go with a Dragoon. I have always thought that Dragoon's were awesome. Considering Kain is my favorite character in FFIV it seem's quite appropriate. It's a shame you don't have him in your party all throughout the game though.

Honestly if you are lazy like me and actually use the auto-battle function then just set Edward up to always use Life's Anthem and you will never die! Then you can get into real powerfull songs like Hero's Rhyme, Boosts all stat parameters up by 10% = Awesome!
