FFIII: Shields or Swords?

I go shield and sword, especially if I have a red mage or a weakened Dragoon/Knight

I'd prefer using two swords because you can get more damage and kill the enemies quicker. I love it when a 6 hit comes.

i prefer to dual wield. especially since i use a dragoon as my power hitter dual wielding a holy lance and a blood lance, not does he do massinve dammage but normally does not have to woorie about healing too.

my ninjia also dual wields the masamune and the full moon blade or whatever it is called and does a decent amount of damage sitting in the back row and getting good defense being back there as well.

so yes prefrebly i use 2 swords.

2 swords nearly always, but I might change it depending on my tactic. 100+ more attack seems so much better than 20 more defence.

2 sword/ spears for me. I love attack power more than defence. considering i use Dragoons, I just have them jump and they don't get hit anyway so 2 weapons rules.

I prefer 2 weapons because I can just cast Protect.

Def. two swords, as killing the opponent faster is preferable to a drawn out battle in which you have higher defence.

I've only played for a short time so far, but I started out with sword and shield for a short period of time figuring that I could not dual wield. Once I learned I could dual wield, which like a few fights later. I immediately had my characters all dual wielding. I would be of the school that if you kill your enemy before it can attack you don't need defense. And well I'm over leveled anyway, so it helps there too. I even have my Black Mage duel wielding a fire and ice staff, even though she is guarding all of the time. I'll sacrifice the defense to be able to double the damage that I can deal out to an enemy and it has not failed me yet. The only character to die is the one that is ten levels below my main two, so of course he is going to die. He is probably the closest to what you really should be in level when going through the game.

well apart from the fact that you do a hell of a lot more damage, duel wielding just looks classier

Dual-weapons. A good offence is the best defence - I mean, if you can wipe out a bad guy in one turn then who needs defence?

I suppose probably the best course of action is to mainly keep with jobs that allow you to wear high-power armour otherwise (such as knights, etc.)... but I digress ^_^

Two swords for all! Yep, even the mages. Except it's a good idea to have one character with a bow and arrows. Apart from that, dual wielding.

To tell you the truth i'd rather have two swords because you can cut down your enemys faster.

2 swords FTW. If you want the defense of a shield you are getting hit too hard.
