What are you talking about...Fighter is Warrior in DoS...I'm not sure but I think it is that way...Black-Belt is Monk is DoS...

But the topic...I have now get my Monk/Black Mage team to work...I have more money than ever because I don't have to buy any expensive weapons and stuff...only expensives things are BM's magic...But now when I again started thinking I see that RM would be better than BM because I just need couple of magics that BM haves...

At the start of the game when you don't have any of the updrades, then I think the best formation is:

Red Mage

You have yourself 2 healers and 3 attackers in one team!

Warrior, White Mage and Black Mage kick ass, the rest is pretts useless.
My fav party would be:
1) Warrior
2) Warrior
3) Black Mage
4) White Mage

If I must choose a diff. class for position 2), I would choose the thief because the Ninja hits 2nd hard. Imo, the Master is a *****.

I'm a bit different... I like fighter, red, red, and red. Maybe it's just me, but I like the red mage. And it gives me more chances to cast more spells and also have fighting abilities.

My best team makeup consisted of a Warrior, Monk, Black and White Mage.

The Warrior did nothing, White Mage healed. Monk was given haste. Monk killed everything in 1 hit.

Only that happens because I got lost one time looking for the Lich for the first time so I lvled and lvled for a long time and eventually I go so strong the Monk one shotted every boss with Haste on every time.

As far as the NES version goes, the difficulty of the game was basically (5 - F)/5, "F" being the number of fighters in your party. I found that one was pretty balanced, and F/Th/WM/BM is the most balanced party in the game, so I usually use that or something similar when I'm not trying out a challenge. When I realized how ludicrously easy the remakes were, though, I abandoned that formula altogether in place of more random groups that required a bit of creativity, and if I'm hoping to get any sort of challenge out of a playthrough I won't have any fighters. RM/Th/WM/BM was actually pretty fun to play through as, so I'll go with that for my favorite party on the remakes.

Fighter/Fighter/Fighter/Red Mage or White Mage

That's practically the best party in the game. Red Mage and White Mage are both good for the last spot. Red Mages can cast the oh-so-important Fast/Temper, which is vital to the success of the Fighters. However, their power goes down late game unless you put the Masmune on them. I perfer putting a Red Mage in the last spot though.

Reason being because I have the magics split between two people, so I can balance the healing and attacking. And I have the two warriors to be on the offensive and defensive. They are strong and they help protect my Mages from dying. I always more of a Spell Singer though. So at one time I may try,

White Mage

Just to see what happens. But that's just me.

My favorite team is Red Wizard as main because he is half Warrior and quarter White mage and quarter Black mage, and thats cool as hell!!! I have a thief becase he can turn into a ninja and their good. and the strongest Character in the game is a monk he does alot of damage but not to well of Defense. and a White mage so she can heal and cast protect. to me this is the best team in the game, cool right?

A balanced party would be the Warrior, Thief, White and Black Mage. Of course, this balance doesn't occur until the job change, which is annoying because the game is a little tough until the Cavern of Earth. The Warrior later turns into a Knight and becomes a low-level White Mage as well, but this isn't the plus. The Knight, throughout every version of this game, has always been the top choice for physical brutality. The Thief can become the Ninja, and be able to use low-level Black Magic, specifically, Haste and Temper, which makes most boss battles thereafter a simple double cast of those spells, some Nul magic, and some Protera/Invisira and the party's all set to go.

I use Red Mage, Black Mage, Warrior, and Thief.
ROLES:


Red Mage - Support Team after battles, damage units high in P.Def and damage units high in M. Def, acts as the backbone.

Black Mage - Heavy splash damage and good for bosses, acts as the catalyst. (my team cannot last in long battles)

Warrior - Tank and deal heavy singular damage, acts as the sponge.

Thief - Quick and deals decent damage, extremely accurate, acts as the consistency. (also good at avoiding so he lasts about as long as warrior against physical attackers)

Well I have learned somthing today. The Ninjas and Knights using magick??? Thats cool.

Before I had a:

Kinghtidnt know he could have had magick but liked having all that defence!

Ninjance more didnt know about magick but they hit alot of times and are quiet accurate.

White Wizard: Healing and Hammer, quite versitaile.

Black Wizard: Well they are just cool and deal massive dammage.
