Best FF1 team and line up

I must have played that game 30 times through. In my opinion, there are two teams that are most fun and effective to use:

Team1:

Fighter
Black Belt (I was sad when they changed his name and added MP)
Black Belt
Black mage

With this one, you have so much firepower the battles are over before you need healing, especially after promotions.

Team2:

White Mage
White Mage
White Mage
Fighter

This group I just had fun with. Made it a lot more challenging, though I never ran out of Healing power.

8-Bit Theatre's party of BM, Fighter, Thief, and RM
and
My personal preference of RM, RM, BB, and BB

Alrighty then,first off I think the best party is one with power,defense and healing ability all in one in other words a balanced party.So I would say there is no perfect party because each character has a weakness.but there is a strong party like the ones said above me...so IL just put my party below to compare ok

I used this party when I played the game for the first time,I didnt know what the hell I was doing.I didnt even know how to control my characters!but as I was getting the hang of it I havent had a difficult time with enemies or bosses with this party.Surely 3 fighters would knock any monster out with their barbarous attacks and with the support of white and black magic by the red mage.I even called the team the Blood Lust Gang,because their all red and they wreak havock anywhere!

I think the best team to have is:
1.Fighter.
2.Theif or Monk.
3.White mage.
4.Red or black mage.
Why because the Fighter can cause alot of damage with the right equipment.
Theif because of they can be very quick or monk because they can be very strong.
White mage can learn all of the white magic spells so they can provide a very good defence.
Red or Black mage because they can use magic to cause some serious damage to the enemies.

Well, a fighter of course. Then maybe a thief. Red mages suck cuz they can't learn all the white and black magic. Without a white mage, you'll lose in no time. Black mages are usefull, too. Monks aren't too strong and they can't handle all the good weapons. That means the best party is a fighter, a thief, a white mage and a black mage

well if you ask me a monk is stronger than a any class in the game. The fighter with the Ultima weapon with 999Hp takes away 800-2000 when a monk can hit 1000-2345. A theif is good aswell and a red mage could help your wm by casting Nuldeath and the same with ur bm the rm can cast haste.

Well, I don't know is this best team but I just started with 3 monks and white mage...And you know what...I have to start again because I didn't remember did Black mage or White mage can learn Haste...of course it was Black so I start new game where I use 3 Monks and 1 Black mage...

My alltime best team would be my team with warriors only. I only had trouble after I had the second power stone. And by the way guys the fighter is actually called a monk on the gba version.

Warrior, Thief, White Mage, Black Mage

I guess this is the traditional lineup, its pretty even. Have any of you ever tried to get the class changes at the lowest level possible. I think you can do it a lv11 if you run from every non boss battle. I think your stats go up more each level after the class change.

What are you talking about...Fighter is Warrior in DoS...I'm not sure but I think it is that way...Black-Belt is Monk is DoS...

But the topic...I have now get my Monk/Black Mage team to work...I have more money than ever because I don't have to buy any expensive weapons and stuff...only expensives things are BM's magic...But now when I again started thinking I see that RM would be better than BM because I just need couple of magics that BM haves...

At the start of the game when you don't have any of the updrades, then I think the best formation is:

Fighter
Black Mage
White Mage
Red Mage

You have yourself 2 healers and 3 attackers in one team!

Warrior, White Mage and Black Mage kick ass, the rest is pretts useless.
My fav party would be:
1) Warrior
2) Warrior
3) Black Mage
4) White Mage

If I must choose a diff. class for position 2), I would choose the thief because the Ninja hits 2nd hard. Imo, the Master is a *****.
