Ahriman and Cerberus are recurring characters and I don't recall either of them being in FF4, though.
Very cool though, thanks for that. I just got done beating Ahriman, I tried Cerberus before, right after I'd defeated Lich to open up the cave, but he spanked me. Fun stuff. I'm looking forward to kicking Ultros' butt. Also, where the heck is the second dungeon that opens when you beat "Marilith"? I've seen each of the other three, but I can't find the second one. |

In addition to beating Marilith you need the Airship. On your map you'll see a whole cluster of locations on the upper right of it. If you go there you'll see a bunch of holes in the ground. These are the Dragon Caves, and one of them is the Hellfire Chasm.
Look for the island with two holes and a forest, then go to the island below it. The Chasm is the lowest one on this island. Jeez.. I hope that was clear enough. >_<

Scarmiglione
Because you've already beaten his first form, you know that physical attacks are the most effective. His second form is Undead, so your Dia and Fire spells will be the most effective in bringing him down. Of course, it does help to have enhanced physical attacks from your fighting classes (fighter, black belt, thief).
BTW, which party are you using and what level are they at? |

I think the only one they changed was Kary, who is now known as Marilith. Lich, Kraken, and Tiamat should all be the same. But, of course, I could be wrong.

Marilith is the REAL name for Kary. She was called Marilith in the japanese version.
The Earthgift shrine bosses are from FF3. I wish they had a "classic" mode with Ineffectives and the old magic system and the real names and difficulty level and real exp levels (and 50 as max, or de-power the level gains so that 99 is equivilent to the old 50).... *sigh* |

![]() As for the mages...read the character pages in this section of the forums (FF I-III) to see the discussion. Personally, I'd take one white and one black to begin just because they use the best spells in the higher levels and are not limited by the red mage's mediocre spell abilities and fighting strength later in the game. Edit 04JAN2005: I started a double party on FFI with a fighter and red mage. I found that even if you kill off a character and put him/her in the front, the sprite will still be the dead character. It's cool killing off a white mage and seeing her walk around in the overworld/dungeons. I'm not sure if it also works in the PSX version, but it is a nice feature in DoS.
