FF II - Most Useful Temporary Character

Yeah I know, it's an older thread, but why make a new one if there's a perfectly good one right here. >.>

I just started FFII yesterday and I'd estimate I'm about halfway through. So far I've found Mindu to be the best temporary party member. His spells were lifesavers early on, when I was still trying to figure out what the hell I was doing. ^^; Plus he had surprisingly good attack power, despite clearly being a mage. I was sad when he left the group; I could have really used his help in several other parts of the game, but noooo, he had better things to do. Bastard. >.<

Mindu by a long shot..

You could so easily cheat his HP/MP growth with that CHNG spell. I'm kickin myself that I *didn't* use it for him as often as I should have but oh well.. im onto Josef now, his bare-hand combat is actually pretty good but it lacks in comparison to Mindu's magical array.

This is all on the original FFIIj rom, translated, mind you. Screw the GBA or WSC versions.

Mindu was by far the best because at the beg. He saved my life like 10000 times cos of his godly healing stuff and he even thought he was kinda weak

I chose mindu, because as my faith in FFII was failing he came along and made me want to keep playing, just a little longer...

Meh..I voted for Minh ( or Mindu..w/e) but perosbnally..I found none of them useful at all..this game i found takes so much less time if you just kill off all your other chars and run around with just one char ( in my case i picked Guy ) it makes leveling SOOO much easier..

Leila - reminded me of Faris and I leveled her thuder spell up a lot. I also gave her daggers/knifes, which I think is her default weapons, but she became fairly strong towards the end.

Mindu, in my opinion is the most useful character since he knows so much holy magic.

I'm going Minwu on this one, because he is the White Wizard afterall. His magic skills are impressive, not to mention the number of times he saved my ass using the cure 7 spell he posesses at the beginning. Plus, using the sap spell is a really easy way to level up MP.

I would go with Mindu (Minwu in GBA version and Minh in English NES fan translation). Mindu is the first temporary character you will get. He most experienced in White Magic. I Spoilers ahead: Mindu leaves the party after you get through Bafsk sewers and return to Altair. He dies in Mysidia tower after giving the Ultima spell. I train him using swords, knives, canes, and unarmed combat.

I also like Leila and Gareth (Ricard in GBA version and Richard in Famicom version). Leila is a very strong temporary character. She is confirmed to be alive by the end of the game. She is one of my favorite characters in Final Fantasy IIj. She is trained in using daggers, but I also train her in using swords.

minwu, his magic is so useful, especially in the beginning of the game

Gordon is the best fighter of the Temporary Character but Mindu have great magic

Mindu is good for the time in the game you get him, he gives you the chance to lvl up your other Chars while you use his High lvl Magic to keep them alive in fights they would lose normaly.
