| I dreamt I was a moron |
Ha, I switched to Opera 9.5 today, after I saw the link in Silver's Sig, and I LOVE IT. It's so much faster than Firefox 3, from what I can tell, and it's much more cutomizable. It's still got a few kinks I'm trying to figure out, but that's how it goes. What are your experiences with Opera browsers? Do you think they're better than the others? At least there's not that annoying attack site thing on TFF with Opera... | ||||||||

| Mistress of Succubi | Fuck Opera. Opera sucks ass. I've tried it, it's really bad. I'd go back to FireFox 3 if I were you. Opera sucks when managing plugins and addons. The addons are much more manageable in FireFox. In Opera you have to install them manually yourself, and Opera doesn't even have an AdBlocker. It does, but you have to install it manually and you have to muck around with a lot of things that it makes it just too tedious to bother with. Honestly... I don't know what you like about Opera. And it's not much faster than FireFox 3, it only feels that way. But yeah. My opinion? Opera sucks ass. Kill it. ------------------------------------------------------------- Edit: Okay. I'm reading about Opera right now. It seems they stole FireFox's awesome bar. They also have a shitty BitTorrent addon. I notice how they always advertise that they're the fastest thing since sliced bread. Though the ability to "Fit to width" is kind of tempting, but meh. I can live without most of these things. I'm satisified with my FireFox.

| I dreamt I was a moron | Point taken, however I have this annoying problem where Firefox likes to tear up what little memory I have available, and it makes multitasking impossible. With opera, my whole system seems to run more smoothly, and I've already handled the adblocker thing. I will concede however, that Opera's plugin's are a bit of a pain to work with. Same thing with the Widgets it's so fond of. I do still use firefox for somethings though, since it's better suited to certain sites. | ||||||||

| TFF Anarchist | BWARHARHAR I love Opera 9.5 I found it after looking at some browser comparisons. Also, Firefox 3 copied Opera's awesome bar. As Opera came out a few days before Firefox 3. It doesn't take 2 minutes to install a plugin, and the skins from the site don't require you to restart the browser like on Firefox. Plus Opera's a ton faster. And so, so pretty. I've also found a few nasty bugs in Firefox 3 (and I still haven't figured out the security expolit ) and Opera just works. And on my system it uses so few resources... OMG! I LOVE THIS THING.Did I mention the speed dial feature that automatically comes up on a new site? Or that Opera stopped being anal about what the viewer could view properly which is why they sucked to me years ago? Why be satisfied if you can be swimming in features at a lower cost of system resources? And of course they advertise being the fastest thing since sliced bread. It's part of why some people love it. ![]()

| | I just downloaded it too and I really like it, I like it more than the new Firefox that's for sure. I downloaded Opera once before and didn't like it, I found it slow and annoying. This one is much better though, it's fast and very reliable. I think I might stick with this browser for a while. It's great. ![]() | ||||||||
