Msn & webcam

dunno if anyone can help....i have a webcam which i use with msn messenger 7.5

i can use it in conversations, but every 5 minutes it seems to just disconnect. Any ideas why? I can reconnect it but it keeps happening and its so annoying now!

What kind of connection do you have?

And what type of pc are you using it with?

Y a girlfriend of mine has the same problem.
In every conversation, the webcam connection stops after a few minutes.
Dunno how to fix it.

when i first bought the cam, it was ok. But it just does it more and more often now.

i cant even get mine to connect... and a lot of hte time it'll freeze my computer as well...

This is often resolved by knowing which computer and internet connection you have, obviously, I was ignored.

There's always websites on this kind of stuff as well, though. Go to the website of the company of which you bought your webcam from, there should be a help page on there...

This could just be a problem with the actual cam. Try buying another cam if you have the time or money and see how it is then. Even if you just buy a crap cam just to test it with. But it seems like you have a fault connection or something in your cam

Yeah, why doesn't somebody answer Chez Daja?

I had a similar problem, mainly while I had a crap wireless adapter. It's pretty much solved now that I sorted my wireless network out properly and changed adapters.

So...why not tell us about your computer and your connection, and if you're on a wireless network, what apapter you'er using

I don't think it'll be the cam, coz It's such a common problem. Although it could be.

sorry i havent had time to reply sooner, been a bit preoccupied...

um ive got an Evesham laptop with windows xp on it, using wireless internet, and the webcam is...a Creative one. It may actually be to do with my internet connection. I dont know much about the wireless stuff coz my dad bought all that, in fact he bought the laptop too lol (18th birthday pressie) but i'll find out more details if ya need them.

And hey, no one wants to see me on webcam, i'm not worthy of being looked at!!

Hmm, by rights it should have no problems then. I've got a Creative cam, and to be honest, I'd have prefered anything BUT Creative.

Often, when you go into the settings or to take pictures, it freezes for no reason at all. That's why I haven't installed it on this computer -- that and the other stuff I bought with it is lost in my room somewhere.
