How fast is your connection speed?
I have just upgraded to 3.5mbps but wasn't sure and did a test to see how fast my line was and it hadn't changed. Anyway I just done a test now to see my line speed, and was surprised at the results, you can find our your speed here. Anyway this is my results as you can see:
First time: Last Result: Download Speed: 3402 kbps (425.3 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 127 kbps (15.9 KB/sec transfer rate) Second Time: Last Result: Download Speed: 3384 kbps (423 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 128 kbps (16 KB/sec transfer rate) My download is great but I wish my upload was a bit faster.

I have no idea as to what is particularly fast, but I see that I beat out Lover Boy and Relm. So that's nice, I guess... hooray for me! Actually, I suppose Sean's is like "whoah, I'm fast, and bad ass!" Anyhoo...

Results, whee!
Last Result: Download Speed: 1257 kbps (157.1 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 317 kbps (39.6 KB/sec transfer rate) Not bad for a DSL split three ways on a network. What's confusing is how I'm splitting my bandwidth three ways while getting an upload speed over twice as high as Wintermetal's. I just wish my download speed could perform the same way.

How important is having a good upload when it comes to gaming? I am sure my download is fast enough for it but my upload? I want to get FFXII but I seriously need to upgrade my PC, All this great speed is going to waste as my HDD is full and I am sick of burning it off

For gaming, high download means you will receive everyone else's information quickly. This is a very good thing. High upload means they will also receive yours very quickly. This is also a very good thing -- unless you're playing an FPS... it could work in your advantage. While you're watching everyone else run around smoothly, they're seeing you skip from place to place, and they miss all their shots.
I have a bad setup for shooters... I have decent download, but rather nice upload. Quite the opposite of what you would want for an FPS, but it works wonders in FFXI. I don't have to load all of everyone's information, and it makes breezing through the zones a little smoother. The internet is a funny thing.
