The Sky Pirates: Remixed

Well, as far as pirate members are concerned, they'll all be somewhat defying law in a manner to which you'll understand by the Prologue post. However, the 4 characters which will unite by the end of that prologue will be Rummy, Patches, Emma and her Bodyguard. More generally, an occurence will allows the four to acquire "something big" and will then make a vow and create "something huge".

The style of the prologue, from what i'm thinking will be presented in 2 point of views. This will allow club members to see what is going on from the perspective of Rummy and Patches, as well as from Emma and her bodyguard. Different Beinnings, suspense and kickass start to a new pirate era.

That's as much as i can reveal...

As for Holy Priest, sorry i totally forgot about you. You're definitely in, but you must make a pirate name and a find a piratee function. Then i'll add you to the list..

I agree with celtic in that we should create the world more. The major parts of that would include, like most of what he said, races, currency, world name, major city names, major kingdom names. I could do some of the last one for sure as, afterall, it affects me directly. I think stuff like this is vital to give us creative freedom in the RP. Enemies are going to hit us as Rummy and Patches sort them out, but we have to be able to do stuff ourselves, especially when we dock.

And, even if Patches and Rummy do this on their own, it wouldn't give us as much freedom as if we organized it together. Since this was proposed as a club activity, some of the club members might me more prone to delve in if they have a little piece in it. Hey, we're all pirates right? We like booty.=P Plus...designing a whole world is time consuming if you're doing it between two people. xD

In my opinion, races shouldn't lend to final fantasy or any other game in any way. Its cool to have little fluffy dudes wandering around, but lets not make them....cat dolls with pom poms. xD

I like the idea of having multiple races, though. Diversity's a good thing. =P

For currency, I like gold coins. Paper money flies away too easily. xD But, on the downside, too many coins are hard to lug around. Perhaps money could be digital? o_O That'd be sort of a werid concept though. Stealing data chips instead of treasure chests. xD

Oh and Daddy....*cough* Patches, any special format you want for making characters? Or just a basic one?

And yes, I agree. It'd be way more fun to come up with our own races.
As this is a RP for the whole of us as a diplomatic piratey sort of club, input from everyone will probably make this roll better...
More ideas = More things to play with and a more diverse universe after all...

Can't we just "borrow" a world from somewhere? The Elder Scrolls have some cool stuff & browsing the net can have great results.

The RP is not like most RPs whose worlds are either the Earth or a world with 2-3 kingdoms fighting each other. Since the concept is different, creating a world will be harder, unless it derives from a FF XII form.

However, i & most members i guess, don't know how far you've gone with the RP, but you don't need to rush it; that way, we'll always be asking questions about random stuff on the story, plot, actions, world etc.

I agree, take your time with the RP. I like the idea of having races would be nice. Would be able to decided what race we could be individually though or would be just be human and the world that we live in will have different races?

I also like the Elder Scrolls concept as well. Are you reffering to the Oblivion one though? I found that place to be really nice. Nicely detailed too.

I don't like the idea of borrowing a world. It limits what we can do with it. Sure we can base some of our ideas off of a world, but don't copy it. Otherwise that's just like an RP for that game. This is our own universe. You know?

But yeah. We should take our time with this. If I may be so bold, can I propose the first of the topics to be discussed? If patches or Rummy have a problem with this, you know, just change it. I'm just throwing something out there for now.

Races are a really important aspect. However, they're also complex. While we should keep them in mind, we should go with something more simple for starters. Just to get a feel for how the club works together. How about currency?

@ Holy Priest: Mdic eh? Savvy, just one thing though, are you able to fight? Basic skills? Also, i do indeed need a Piratee name from you. Sorry for being so slow lately, been offline for a few days, exams and all.

@ Debate between Cloudy and Xeim: I personally think that taking from some other worlds could be beneficial, just as long as we don't overdo it. I'm thinking of taking many brilliant concepts to make a great one. However, its not like our ship will be able to travel at the speed of light...

@ Celtic_Silver and Xeim: Yup, excellent mate. Figured that was brilliant to incorporate currency. However, the concept of digital money of Xeim intrigues me, and am i the only one to whom this idea appeals?

Finally, as a vote of democracy, i will be gathering all club's discussion, and formulate questions/choices in which all members will participate to vote their favourite options. For example, i will ask questions such as "What currency would you prefer?" and next to that i'll offer some choices.

This will be a post in this thread, and after that i'll allow 1 week for members to vote. I'll tally all results and make up a world of pirateness. Also if there is a tie, Rummy and i will decide which one lives on .

Digital money idea of Xeims supported by me. That said, it wouldn't be the same without being able to loot real valuables. So we should also have real treasure that we'd have to find a way of fencing or something.

Also with races, I think that if someone has a particular race in their head right now for their character, they should share. If it doesn't seem badly balanced in terms of being over skilled or whatever it should be fine. Rather than striving for unique skills above anything else, I think I'd be more interested in interesting aesthetics. It's the horns, scales, unusual methods of breathing and communication and all that which truly make a race design unique...

Digital money? Sounds cool to me. But, credit cards are sort-of tacky to me. If we are aiming for a semi-futuristic world, I'd say some sort of small device (about the size of a flash drive) that projects a holographic display. This could also work for I.D.s and considering we're pirates, it could easily be reconfigured into a fake I.D.

As for races, I plan on my charater being cybornetic in nature. Think Cyborg Ninja from the MGS saga. Still human looking, but obviously a cyborg as well. I would call them Technorati.
