| | Yeah.. I didn't vote for Rudd. PEOPLE WHO VOTED FOR RUDD, STOP COMPLAINING, YOU VOTED HIM IN, IT'S YOUR OWN FAULT! They all make promises they don't keep, every single one of them. I'm so not voting for him AGAIN the next election. He ripped off the pensioners and disabled, how are they meant to live? I'll never know. This country is going to pieces in my opinion with all the interest rates going up, food prices going up, petrol going up and everything getting pricey. ![]() | ||||||||

47 | aren't interest rate rises and inflation in no way controlled by the Government? Sure they might promise to try to stop these things but the reality is that they can't do squat. those things happen because of spending, Australia on a hole needs to spend less to stop those things.

| Oh so sexy. | True enough, but the Government spends money as well. Pouring money into the wrong sectors will increase inflation and interest rates. They have billions of dollars to spend, so therefore they are accountable for the vast majority of Australia's wealth. We can't just spend less. People are not going to willingly lower their standard of living. We are constantly seeking to improve it. Interest rates are there to prevent inflation, but do not necessarily cause prices of businesses to go down. Therein the problem lies. By having higher prices, people will want to earn more, so businesses must charge more to be able to do so. They also need to charge enough to make a profit, and so the cycle continues. It is the Government's responsibility to ensure money and resources are distributed to the right sectors in order to make sure that enough profit is generated to make it viable, but not so much so much that other sectors suffer because of it. Like the mines here in WA. There is so much money being generated jobs like cutting vegetables pay in excess of $80,000, prompting people to leave their current jobs to go to the mines. I would never have voted for Kevin either Kirsty. Labor has a really bad track record, and are no good for small businesses like the one my family runs.

| | YAY! There's actually someone else who doesn't like Rudd. I agree though with what you said 100% I don't like Labor in general either. Does anybody here watch Rove on Sunday nights? He has this segment with Rudd where he sounds sinister half the time and it's just plain funny. They make fun of him basically and usually at the end he laughs and it's the funniest laugh ever. I'll post the video of the first five episodes for those people who are interested, the first and last are the best in my opinion. The theme song reminds me of Miami Vice or something and it has some action in it too! xD Enjoy! | ||||||||

| | I heard on the radio yesterday on the way to school. Because it is a long car trip now >.>, about how petrol would be around $1.80 a litre by the end of the year. That's horrible, especially because everything else is going up too. We have to pay an extra $40 a year in Queensland I am pretty sure for water. That really isn't our fault and it's only going to go up every year. We get taxed too much. Definately. We get taxed for earning money, for selling our own house, for buying items.. it's crazy. But the one tax I hate the most is Capital Gains. Why do we need to get taxed for earning a large ammount of money. That just deters people from investing. It isn't fair.

| | $1.80? I heard $2 by the end of the year. Either way, it's too expensive and nobody will be able to afford driving. Yeah and taxes are ridiculous! We pay taxes on really stupid things too. GST is lame, it should be taken away. Food is just too expensive too. It cost us over $150 for groceries today and the trolley wasn't even full, how sad is that? I remember ten years ago you would get a good trolley full of goods. We won't be able to afford food it the prices keep going up. They should give us all rises because of it, how do they expect us all to live? | ||||||||

| | I know it's horrible. Did you know there is tax on tampons and pads which are a necessity but not on viagra? It truely isn't fair. Food will go up even more, with the price of petrol because of the need for it to be transported to and from places. You are right though, without raises we can't all afford to be spending that much money on neccessary things. Sure, if things we don't need go up in price. But not groceries.

Yeah, petrol cost will keep rising so the cost of food will keep rising. People are really going to suffer, I think we are already. People can't even afford to buy luxuries anymore, it's sad. We don't go to the movies much or anything now. Even meat is a luxary now, the price of it all is just too much. It's rather worrying. The number of homeless people is dramatically going up and I can see why now.

But yeah, things is shit. I haven't really noticed anything new though. Prices kept rising before Rudd, prices keep rising with him. I'm curious to see if electing a cheese sandwich or similar as our PM would achieve the same results at times... It'd certainly be more to my tastes. ![]() Also some politician said not to worry as things will even out. And I have to agree. So long as part of that is taking Rudd's couch or our taxes (and expenses) back from parliament. ![]() VOTE #1 CHEESE SANDWICH!

| I think kitties are wonderful. | I still remember the old days were petrol was 90c a litre. Its just....insane how much many things are costing in this period. My Economics teacher told us we won't move out of our houses until we are at least 30 if rates keep going up like they are now. And that's a scary thought. *shudder*

| I think kitties are wonderful. | I remember when going to the Ekka was so cheap. Speaking of the Ekka, is anybody going to go this year? I mean, rides are like what, nearly $8 now? Its just incredibly insane! I'd rather spend the money on going to a theme park.

| | I might be going to the EKKA if I have somebody to go with and don't get that flu and die >.> It depends. I remember when petrol was like. .60c a litre. As it went up to like 70c and 80c people really complained. But just look where it is now. It's going to get worse before it gets better, that's for sure. Not moving out until your 30? Uhm. No. I could not stand to live at my house that long.. Except half of the house is mine.. But still. I don't think I could stay that l | ||||||||
