I know a lot of people who are so strong in beleiving that they have the right not to vote, that they would rather pay the $100 or so fine, then go and vote. I think I'll probably do that as well. I've recieved several enroll to vote kits and I can't be bothered getting enrolled, not worth the effort.

I really don't understand why people would not want to vote and have a say in who runs their country. Maybe that's just me though.

Yeah, I don't understand why people wouldn't want to vote for the leader of this country either. Why would you rather pay a hundred dollar fine than vote? It makes no sense considering it only takes about 10-20 minutes of your time. Well it certainly doesn't take long for me anyway so I don't see what the big deal is. Your vote and every other vote is very important, it could be your vote that changes everything.

If you would rather pay one hundred dollars or whatever the fine is then go ahead, it makes no sense to me but it's not my life lol. I'd rather just go and get it out of the way.

Haha yeah... I'd hate to pay a fine... although, I think it's silly we're forced to vote... I think it should be an optional right so people who dont want to vote dont have the chance of screwing up the country with donkey votes
I agree though- I cant wait for this election to be over... I'm sick of seeing ads on the TV concerning interest rates and trade unionism! -_- GAH!
And yes, our political system is indeed in need of reform XD

I recently watched Kevid Rudd make a long live speech on T.V. and I was impressed he made a couple of points that stood out to me.

- More spending on education
- Abolition of IR laws
- Improve Australia's access to technology
- will address climate change

Only problem is that I've missed my chance to see John Howard make his case. But Iwas leaning toward labor anyway because I am getting rid of John Howards as for most of my entire life it's always been John Howard in power and I was to young to understand politics when Paul Keating was in power. So it's time for a change.

And Kevin Rudd might acutally sign the Kyoto Agreement.
I guess since my parents go for Labor I just do too.
But when I listen to them I really do think Labor is the better party.

And John Howard is retiring anyway.

I thought you said you weren't voting anyway. If you have an opinion about who should be PM, you should vote.. it'll save you a bit of money.

The school I do work at is getting ready for the big election anyway, they don't sound too enthusiastic about it either. They were talking about it today in the staff room and were discussing about who they were going to vote for, none of them sounded as though they were sure about who they were voting for. One of them said that they are both bull anyway haha. The one lady said that her husband didn't even know much about them, how could you not? It's been on television every night for ages. O.o

I've been leaning towards Rudd since before the election. I first saw him on Sunrise, and I liked him then. I'd definitely prefer him to Costello any day.
Does anyone else find it stupid how the Coalition's harping on about Kevin Rudd not having any experience as PM, when Johnny's going to hand over to Costello, who not only has no experience, but he's completely unlikeable? Their campaign seems to be a bit of a moot point in that respect...

Yes. I think we would be in better hands with Rudd then Costello. Ugh. Costello. There's just something about him I don't like. I don't want him to be PM of our country really. Rudd will do a better job.

I like what he says. Even if it is just talk like half of what they say before elections. I prefer what he has to offer. Whether or not he acts on it is a different story.

Well I went voting earlier, in the rain mind you. We had to walk through mud and muck just to get inside lol, it wasn't nice at all. I found the voting to be confusing at first too but I got it eventually. It only took us around 15 minutes in total which is good. We went early to get it over and done with, that's the way to go in my opinion lol.

Anybody getting this wonderful rain? We have had almost two inches in the last 24 hours now and it's the most we have gotten in ages. I just hope that the dams are getting it as well so they can get topped up a little bit. It may not be enough to fill it but every little bit helps. Hopefully other people are getting a lot as well so the plants and grass can thrive a bit longer!

Yeah it was pissing down Daptoways for a bit too...
Oh and I did vote labour on both counts. I most likely would have anyways, but some random dude shouted us all beers in exchange for agreeing to vote labour...
Beer... *drools*
LABOUR FTW!

You mean Labor don't you? Labour is when a women gives birth lol.

I voted for Liberal, of course. I don't have my hopes up about Johnny winning but ah well. I just don't like Rudd, I have a bad feeling about him but whatever. However it turns out, I'll have to accept. ^_^

Yeah, sorry about that. I couldn't be bothered knowing the spelling.
I wanted to vote Rudd for the internet policy and because he ain't Costello, but either way, things'll likely be samey.
Beer on the other hand...
That talks wonders.
