You thought Bleak Necrotic Paleness was depressing? Try Summon The End Of Time. I remember feeling like shit the first time I heard it.
Again, another shite video made by a newb to the depressive black metal scene. I couldn't stomach the whole thing. I did see some interesting pictures, but a lot of it was your everyday "hi, is it black metal to write some of the worst Sargeist lyrics to a Xasthur song?" I also saw some pictures of "death"... Haha, it's funny really, a lot of people rip fake death photos off. Some succeed in making it look pretty interesting, but other times, it's a bit shite like in this case. The whole CD of this Xasthur album is impressive. Here's Summon The End Of Time; http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=_9kTpUECWmo EDIT: LAWL! He even tagged it as Satanic. How precious. *Wipes away mocking tear.* It's not really supposed to make you feel anything. Sometimes it does have that effect. Especially to people when they first hear it. As for annoying pop music... It doesn't really interest me. I did find Amy Winehouse's Rehab song annoyingly catchy the first few times. I'm sure if I dug out my old CD's, I'd find old pop music I have that I still find interesting, but for the most-part, I've forgotten about it. Emiliana Torrini, anyone? Not pop, though. Alternate music with old western influences. Some of it's similar to Bjork. Gotta love Bjork. P.S, loving Alisyn's new avatar and tag. Really different, really interesting.

End of January for the stories? works for me!
Discussion: I listen to a variety of music, from Classical, to Acoustic Rock, to some metal, to techno, and classic rock, alternative, and some mainstream. For instance on my mp3 player, when set on shuffle, i'm bound to hear something like Take This Life - In Flames, I Close My Eyes(Techno Trance mix), I miss you - Blink 182, Touche - Godsmack (the Other Side acoustic EP), Soldiers of the Wasteland - Dragonforce, Sad but True- Metallica, Even Flow - Pearl Jam, and the piano version of you're not alone from FF9 weird I know, -steel |

I've found that over time I've become less and less of a metal fan.. I dunno what that's about, really.
I know that I started listening to all sorts of metal when I was about eleven and then death metal when I was thirteen.. I guess I'd kind of just grown out of it by fifteen. I still love metal, but I'm not going to listen to it absolutely all the time. The album I'm listening to -right now, at the moment- is the Laced/Unlaced album by Emilie Autumn. It's entirely instrumental.. The first disc is a remake of her original classical album "On a day.." and it features a bunch of covers of other classical pieces, along with some of her own.. It's beautiful to relax to. The next part is "Unlaced". She describes this is "Violindustrial". I don't see the industrial in it.. But okay. Alot call it Neoclassical [a contradiction of terms?]?. That's something I love alot about her.. Even in the songs where she's singing her violin says just as much as her voice. You could follow the violin through the song forgetting about the lyrics entirely and still get the tone of it.. Oh, a couple of you might recognise her from the Saw III and Saw IV soundtracks. Look for "Organ Grinder [I love this..]" and "Dead is the New Alive" [also pretty good.] Have an unlaced. I couldn't find decent audio of this one live, sorries =( If you like that, I'd also try typing in "Manic Depression", "Organ Grinder" and "Leech Jar". Have her playing violin live clear as a bell.. With a faerie costume. I love this clip, I've marvelled at it over and over again. Just watch it. It's amazing o_o Oh! I must also, like Chez, compliment Alysin's new avatar/signature set. <3. I'll rep you for it when I can.

You got me into her music Froggie. ^^ Well the "Opheliac" and "Laced/Unlaced" stuff at least. I like some of her Enchant stuff but Opheliac was better in my opinions. "306" and "I Know Where You Sleep" are my favorites. As for Unlaced, I like "Syringe" and "Leech Jar". Isn't she coming out with a new song called "4"O Clock" BTW?
As for music though, I listen to a variety of music. I'm pretty much open to any kind of music. On my MP3 player I have Madina Lake, Kottonmouth Kings, Razed In Black, Rob Zombie, Nine Inch Nails, Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, Fear Factory, Evanescence, Disturbed, Kayne West, Godsmack, Jay Z, Lacuna Coil, Behemoth, ThouShaltNot (Thanks to Sinister ), Lamb Of God, and sadly..I like listening to some country...Well, Tim McGraw at least. >.< |

^Fear Factory is ace!
Dimmu Borgir are alright, too. I like a lot of metal, but most of it isn't known that well. I find that a lot of newer BM (black metal for those of you that don't know), can be pretty boring and repetitive. I'm not the type to take on all kinds of metal just because it's metal. I take it on because some of them manage to beat the outerline of repetitive music. I have a severe hatred for a lot of mainstream metal because it attracts silly kids who think they're really cool, but when you ask them, they've never even heard of Nile, Korpiklaani or Amon Amarth. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but a lot of them stick to the bands that their friend recommend. I've made a lot of nerve-racking music choices when buying CD's and hoping they'll be good ones, but I like it because I figured out what I like for myself rather than hearing everything from other people. And you have to admit, it's kind of cool being the only people you know who's ever listen to bands that 99.9% of the rest of the world has never heard. Amazon and eBay have been good to me like that.

Jumping randomly into the conversation....
My music? My music taste is very odd...pretty much I'll listen to almost anything. I mean, I'm not a ig fan of rap or country, but truthfully, there's a couple of each of those types loaded onto my computer. I'll give you a random sample of the songs on here: Write You A Song - Plain White T's Light It Up - Used For Glue Wanted: Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi Beat On The Brat - The Ramones Riot Girl - Good Charlotte Like a Prayer - Madonna (I know, I know..) Goodbye My Lover - James Blunt Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers Random Song From Harry Potter Soundtrack Sound of Pulling Heaven Down - Blue October Chop Suey - System of a Down Warning - Green Day Glory - Sugar Ray Random song from High School Musical Soundtrack Let The Bodies Hit The Floor - Drowning Pool Etc, Etc....very random I know...

You've got a pretty good mix of stuff there, Lovely. Commercial as anything, but it's pretty good. I quite like a few you have in there like The Ramones, Plain White T's, Bon Jovi, James Blunt, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and I don't mind Drowing Pool, either.
Fishie - Yeah! It's out! It's almost.. Think what would happen if you chucked Gothic Lolita and Let the Record Show together. It's ... Odd, but highly likable once you get used to it. I'm glad you like Laced/Unlaced. It's a great album. And I -LOVE- Enchant.. I wish she'd do a little more like that. I think it's just as good as Opheliac, although not as hard-edged. It's more soft and drifty and ethereal.. But it's still very Emilie. Bring back Enchant! ><. Chez Daja - I don't really have a hate for mainstream metal... It just severely annoys me that it keeps getting put in the "emo" category. Well, it does here anyway. There was a hardcore/metal/death metal concert around here recently and posters were put up all over the school.. In about three days everybody was calling it "The emo concert." Ugh. Annoying as anything. But yeah, I think there is something kinda nice about knowing you're one of the few people that knows who somebody is.. It almost annoys me a little when artists go so mainstream.. But it's still kinda "Good for them." I felt that way a little when Emilie Autumn.. Well, she didn't go mainstream, but she became so popular so fast. I miss being one of the 300 people in the world that had a copy of "On a Day" and "Your Sugar Sits Untouched."

XD. Is that all you're gonna think everytime you see me around, now? "Zomg.. She likes Britney.." :x. Something similar happened on the bus a few days ago.. I was sitting there with "Toxic" pumping through my headphones and I noticed about three people looking at me weirdly.. Like.. "Um.. Why's the girl in the purple corset and big black skirt listening to Britney?" ><.
And I like your taste in music, there. Makes me want to make a list of my own. But be aware of the fact that this probably aint half of it ><. Music currently being listened to by yours truly: -The Cruxshadows -The Dresden Dolls -Depeche Mode -The Cure -Emilie Autumn -Aural Vampire -Dracul -ThouShaltNot -Rob Zombie -Black Tape For A Blue Girl -Rasputina -Apocalyptica -Diary of Dreams -Cocteau Twins -Nickelback -Black Sabbath -Motley Crue -Dethklok -Stephanie Dosen -Fiona Apple -Anathema -Bjork -Caberet Voltaire -Camouflage -Danny Elfman -Delerium -Epica -Grinspoon -Imogen Heap -Jet -Operator Please -Little Birdy -Malice Mizer -Britney Spears -Mika [I know, I know.] -New Order -Panic! At the Disco -Assorted artists of the Queen of the Damned soundtrack -Radiohead -Siouxsie and the Banshees -Spandeu Ballet Oh! Anybody here heard of Aural Vampires? I downloaded them and they're honestly not usually my thing.. I like my music in English usually and just.. Well.. Different to this, but it immediately became entrancing and incredibly catchy. Plus I have no idea what they're saying so all the sounds in the background make -no- sence ><. Here's Freeeze!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9loRRdMVtBk
