That may also explain why you like Gundam so much. Odd that you didn't mentioned SEED as a fave, I reckon it has more drama than the other series, you tell me. But I sense the action isn't your forte, it seems. Either that, or you aren't a fan of Super Robot series (may be wrong, for what I've seen E7 seems to be a Super Robot series, but since I haven't seen the action per se, I might not be able to define) Announcing the attack is a mere formality, just to indicate which kind of move will it use. Remember, most of the SRW fans are from the game, and they wish to see their favorite move executed in drawn action; having the move named makes for easier reference. Now, not all of the moves are actually announced. This is a trend taken from the Super Robot series (or else, why we have to listen always when the Getter Robo uses his Beam or Tomahawk?); most of those fans saw Super Robot Series, such as Mazinger, which are full of fancy explosions and nigh-impossible moves. So, no, pink and green explosions aren't the fad; they are the children of the yellow fancy explosions and meltings of the Mazinger's Breast Beam. The Hot-Blood intensity, though, has grown quite a lot.

I'm kinda busy with Merc stuff right now, so I won't be able to RP for a week and a half. I can still make Mechs and stuff, (they really don't take that long, lol) but writing long winded things takes time. Just PM me. Edit: I can't do anything about the glare, it's on the screen for special effects. Edit's Edit: Chromehounds has different designs, even scorpion styled mechs. Large cannons and weapons are rampant in it, but they hardly resemble normal human mechs. They more like Guntanks rather then Gundams. The pics are much better too. | | Well Code Geass aired tonight. Its an interesting show and not going to be a straight out mecha anime. The main character has some sort of special power of digital or supernatural origin. I guess it will be explained later on, but it should still be very interesting. It is certainly dark and not pulling any punches. They are already showing the enemy in a very evil light killing people on mass. The mechs are interesting with the way they roll around. Some of it reminds me of Eureka Seven, but they are not really that mobile. Though they only showed them for a little bit, so they might be more agile. Either way they can scale up a wall which was interesting. It should prove to be a fun show to watch. It has my interest already, but I've been waiting for this anime since I heard CLAMP was working on it.

426 | My one friend said Code Geass was good, better then Gundam... (he never like Gundam, lol) It seems sorta like Armored Core in how the mechs move, except they're on wheels. I give it a B+ for what I've seen so far.

426 | Read the first page, you needed to PM Evangel or get a recommendation from one of us first. Played Chromehounds earlier, as a Tactical Commander. Man, the game is a lot easier with one pointing out enemy positions on the map. I may not get the kills, but it's worth it to win. "#17 move to Combas B, #05 move to Base 2, Enemy to the north of you, #08.... Now, all units flank the Tripple-Single and open fire from all sides!....... Emergancy, Fast-movers closing on our base, #s 08 and 10 move to intercept from the northwest!!" It's nice being a sleeper unit with a low rank... It's not on purpose either, lol.

| | Second episode of Code Geass aired last night. It had a fair amount of mecha action though it definitely stepped things up with the introduction of the Lancelot Knightmare frame which is pretty much the special prototype weapon of mecha anime that would be comparable to a gundam in strength, power and agility. The only difference is the Lancelot is in the hands of the enemy and clearly is going to be staying there for a little period of time. However, seeing as the pilot is the friend of the main character they will either have the Kira and Athrun complex where they endless are fighting each other over different ideals of how to achieve the same goals and eventually join sides or join sides very quickly. It is hard to know which they will do especially since at this point neither knows that they were fighting each other. It is interesting to how the main character is a very good strategists. He knows how to play the situation to his advantage while not even get out there and getting his own hands dirty. Seeing as he is the main character in a mecha anime you sort of expect him to be out there on the frontlines battling the strongest of the enemy in mecha duels. But he just hides on the hill watching the battle giving out orders. It was a different angle and I will be curious to see if he actually does do any fighting of merit. He does fight a little, but he was fighting the Lancelot in a significantly inferior suit. So it is hard to know if he lacks skills to fight or just was easily overwhelmed by the sheer superiority of the Lancelot. You can see CLAMP all over the characters though. They are all so long legged a standard of CLAMP character design. The main character remains me a little of Kamui from X, though not quite so angsty or emo. It should be fun to watch to see what develops with this show. I can't wait to see the next episode. And I think they got the group that did one of the openings for Eureka Seven to do a song of their opening, because it sounds very similar in style.

Actually, his role of a commander on the battle field was justified. Without one, all the units would be walking blindly into the enemy's forces. He acted like the King in a game of Chess. Not moving wildly or dangerously into the battlefield unless necessary, he keep all his units in check. Keeping an eye on where each unit would move and could move. Anticipating strategies is the role of the tactical commander when faced with one on the other side. In everything, too much independence and too much control doesn't make a good situation. Having the units follow orders enough to fight where they need too, but with enough independent decisions to adapt to the battle is the best devision of power when it comes to war. Total independence and/or total control yields only tragedy on all fronts, whether it be war or otherwise. Most likely it was the later of your idea of what had happened. He was able to block most of the Lancelot's close-range attacks, and keep moving taking Checkmate in the end. I know cuz I played a lot of chess in my childhood. I apply the same concepts to all my games that I can think ahead in. I may not be the best, but I won't give up without a fight.... unless I get bored. lol

| | I wasn't really trying to say that his role on the battlefield was wrong, just an interesting change. I believe that they made the reference that he was a king once or twice in the episode as well. He treated the battle as a game of chess until the Lancelot appeared. But it should be interesting to see what he continues to do. Because unlike most mecha anime the main character is not a frontlines soldier in the most advance suit in the world. So he is going to end up doing things differently that what we have come to expect out of this usual genre of anime. I did notice that all of the mechs have escape/ejection pods of some sort. Which is a curious move since most mecha anime do not have any problem with killing nameless soldiers off in pretty explosions. So I guess there will be less military causalities then usual. If your suit is destroyed or disabled the pilot has a pretty good chance of surviving.

| | After the first episode of Code Geass, I ended up watching subbed episodes online. >.< I managed to get through the first "season" in one week. From watching the first two episodes, I'll tell you right now your minds will be everywhere by the end of season one. I did, however, enjoy how Lelouch treated the battle like a chess game. He definately acts like an anti-hero as the story progresses. You'll find out... As for the Lancelot, I love it. It is definately the trump card of Britannia. For now. The only thing I am confused on is what are the "factshperes"? They are on all the Knightmares. | ||||||||

| | And then what? Are you going to try to make a different a RP? Or are you not going to make another one? Anyone else besides me still watching Code Geass? It is getting increasing watching Lelouch play around with his mind control abilities. Though it is a little odd that he can only use it once per person. I did like how he played his maid in a part to turn the girl off his trail with the slip up that he made. Though more surprising to me was that they actually kept the scene most unedited, they just blur out what they can't show. It was a rather important scene so they could not just hedge around it anyway, but I hope it remains that way. I really don't like seeing things cut out on Adult Swim.
