Hey, Celt. I didn't realize that you are on right now. It's late where you are, isn't it?
Oh yea, Happy Birthday! A little late, but still... lol

Anyway, what kind of weapons or practice weapons do you train with, Celt?

I use to train with spears, staves, long chain weapons, scimitars, siethes (ignore spelling), bayonettes styled blades, short swords, halbreds, and for a short time axes. Not all at once, of course, but over time. lol I'm fairly well with most of them.

Like I said up top, I'm currently training with a heavy broad sword style blade, and I'm trying to get into heavy chain seithes. I also have my practice katana, too.

I tried nunchuku, but it didn't work well for me. lol

Baseball bats, decent swords I manage to buy, knives, my trusty hockey stick...
And plain metal rings. Most of the weapons you described don't hide too well down here, and you get noticed a lot more than you want to carrying them around.

As for the time, it's actually heaps early here. Around 4am I believe. A couple of minutes before maybe.

With me, it's not in any pattern. I fight if I need to, I train like anything before a confrontation I've been given a heads up about, but that's about it. My training consists of practicing with weaponry, cardiovascular exercises, some of the ol' barbells and situps/pushups/similar.

Yeah Im in a bulking stage of my training right now. No cardio, just lifting. I put up about 230 on my bench the other day when I was maxing out. Pretty empressive personally because my previous best was a mere 200lb. Not bad for a dude who weighs 160. I lift all my core body parts.

I plan on cycling lifting with cardio, so after another month I am going to be hitting some cardio.

For fight training, I spar at my gym with others, and take classes.

Damn, not bad Paper. If you join the Marines you'll bulk up quickly, cuz they'll make you train 5 times a day, lol. My dad was in the Air National Guard and he went from a skinny180 to a 210, and that training isn't nearly as hard as the Marines.

Around last year, I was benching my own weight, but joint injuries this year sort of reset my normal limits. Left arm keeps acting up if I do too much. Right now, I figure I'm at benching 165 or so right now. My normal training last year was at 20 each.


Has anyone had to fight for their own lives before? Like, "if you lose, you'll die" sort of things. Most of mine are.

All the time. And that's one reason for me not to unless something serious comes up. Others I care about need me too. I think the most obvious thing that comes to mind are psychotic drunks. The type who will kill you and then sober up when they think you're dead...

Do you guys have any intense scaring or anything like that? Like battle damage and shit. Marks too large to heal properly or something.

Heh... I prefer a good anti scarring cream...
That said, I got one on my noggin (guess the cream had a hard time with my hair ), one on my left index finger from broken glass (which I missed until it'd scarred), one on my leg which was just a little too deep to heal up properly regardless of what I did...

And a few smaller ones here and there. Luckily (and thankfully) the few on my face are covered by hair. ^^

I'm still not a fan of fighting, and I try very hard to avoid physical conflict. I do, however, practice with bokens, wooden practice swords.

I consider myself to be at least moderately talented with them. I own 6 of them, and every now and again, I'll gather up some friends for some goofing off swordfights. Despite my lack of formal or proper training, I seem to have developed a very particular style. I parry. All the time. At the last second. With a high rate of success.

Now that I think about it... I think one of my firends compared it to one of the four lightsaber dueling styles from the Star Wars universe. Why the hell do I hang out with Star Wars ubergeeks?

I very rarely actually take the offensive, having done so on only a handful of occasions. The most memorable time was when one of my friends was trying this ridiculous spinning move, and I whacked him in the calf muscles of his left leg.

On a side note I was recently knocked unconcious for the first time. It wasn't in a fight, I hit my head on a cabinet. Ouch.

Still too cold up here for anyone else to come outside and fight.
My hands are dry from the cold air. Their rough to start with, and the freezing temps don't help. My knuckles look like they went through a meat grinder and won, lol.

Any new happenings where you guys live?
Any new fights or style that you picked up?
