I see. I'll have to check that out. Are there any cool secrets in SH3 that you know of other than the....

Spoiler:
Alien ending?

I'm just about to ride to Silent Hill in SH3. I'll...let you know how that goes.

*EDIT*

Now in the good old hospital. I just killed off a few of those naughty, naughty nurses. These things are hands down the creepiest thing in SH3.

Not that I know of! Not too educated on SH3 so far!

Blah. I HATE nurses in EVERY SH that I've played. (1, 2 and 4). I think fours' nurses were too frigging hard to kill, even on easy mode. In fact, is it me, or are all nurses on those games really hard to kill? =\

Yeah, I am going through SH2, last place I saved was in the Mobile House. Though I am not saying SH1 sux, you can see a lot of new things in SH2, but I won't read those spoilers till tomorrow. I looked for that song you mentioned but I couldn't find any music, just the backround noises.

I am going through them in order but I guess I wouldn't need to, just now figuring out where to go next.

So I went to BestBuy to pick up a $9.99 copy of SH4, and I find out that my local BB doesn't stock it anymore. Then I can't find it on bestbuy.com. So I eBay it, and ended up paying 25 bucks for it.

That sucks, man. Did they have it for $9.99 at one point in time? They had it here and I figured they'd have it nation wide. I'm not suprised that it was gone, though. I took my friend Phil to Best Buy so he could pick one up and they were all sold out.

Hell, I wouldn't have even known about it if I hadn't have gone elsewhere looking for it. A couple of people from Game Crazy and EB Games told me that Best Buy was selling it for $9.99, so I went there and picked up a copy. There were four copies left.

One of the girls who told me about it said that she picked up three copies of it. My guess is that she hopped on Ebay and jacked up the price because it's becoming hard to find.

Don't feel bad, though. I just paid $20.99 for SH2 on Ebay. I've been searching everywhere for the games. I drove everywhere but to my hometown Gamestop. When I went there to check up on a job, I happened to look over in mid conversation to see Silent Hill 2 and 3 sitting on the shelf. I didn't have the money for both, so I had to choose.

I picked up SH3 for $24.00 and waited until about a week ago when I had money to go get SH2. Well, as luck would have it, someone bought it. It was only $19.99. I held the damned game in my hands and everything. It was right there and when I came back for it...it was gone.

*EDIT*

Had we have started this club a month ago, I would have picked up a couple of copies of SH4 as prizes for "Cry of the Siren". I may still do that but via Ebay or a few other prizes that are cool and Silent Hill oriented to send out for extra difficult challenges like...I don't know...surviving an entire boss battle (a difficult one) with a melee weapon. There'd have to be some sort of proof that it was completed, though.

It's not impossible!

Well, update on my playing, I'm about to do the rest of the hospital just after it's turned dark. I've had troubles playing, because my brother is so young and doesn't allow me to play it while he's around (almost every minute of the motherfucking day. I should have that hospital pimped while he's out, though.

And yeah... Bah... I need a PS2 that works with british AND American games... So bad, yeah. It's...rawwwr. Annoying to fuck that I can't even play my games...

Another alternative to get you playing those games would be to just buy an American PS2 and an outlet/power converter. That's what I did with mine when I went over there. Hell, I could just send you my converter if you want. I don't think I'll be using it again. The only thing that I can't figure out was the games were in black and white.

I'm sure there is a simple explanation for it. I just don't know what it is.

When I get some cash, I could always donate my old PS2 to your cause. I'm planning on getting a new one (one of the fancy, cool-guy slim ones) anyhow. Now I'm wondering why it was in black and white....

Who knows?

Wow, seriously? O_o;;...Haha, thanks, if you find there's a time when you don't want that ole PS2 and converter, when it's sitting there, getting all dusty...you could send it this way, and I'd see if theres something I could give you in return. =D

NOTE: THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE SEXUAL FAVOURS. ((Sorry, I couldn't resist that. xD!))

Also, I had my Devil May Cry 3 black and white... I played around with the colour plug at the back of my tv, and then it was in colour. I had been really confused as to WHY my game was in black and white, then playing with the colour and... yeah, it was weird. Maybe you need to unplug and then re-plug your colour switches into your tv??

Anyway, I'm about to enter the Silent Hill historical center... well, I'm in there, I hit the save point on the counter. I'll be playing again, most likely tomorrow, if my brother pisses off for a while.

DAMN IT! (kidding!)

Yeah, I'll send it along if I'm able to get ahold of a new one. I've never had my PS2 go black and white here, just over in England.

So your brother won't let you play it because he's afraid of it or what? If that's the case, you should tape him to the chair and make him watch you play it. You'd definitely have to video tape that though as it might be the funniest thing I've ever seen.

My brother is quite a bit younger then me. He's almost 12, and he's really whiny. He's scared shitless of SH. He claims he thinks it's cool, but everyone knows he has nightmares about it.

I should force him to watch that monster come out of the wall on the first bit of SH4. (I didn't put a spoiler tag around that, because it was at the beginning of the game, and I don't think it was really nessarsary.) ^^;

Argh I hate the whole region thing, there are a few games that I don't get to play because of it. But PAL normally gets all the bonus stuff where as NTSC doesn't.

You need to force your brother to play it so he grows some balls, I want to get my brother to play it, mind you he's 16 so I think he could handle it.

I still haven't done anything and tonight I am working on fixing my webpage so yeah. But I will have a good later perhaps.

I just want to remind everybody!

When you finish SH2 check out my spoilers! I want to be able to discuss things with you dudes.
I've seen some very varied opinions on SH2, but a lot of them aren't as detailed as mine. I tried, not only to scratch the surface, but go deep into the mystery and write something meaningful, tried to think and discover everything... I think Hollow Point and Odin would probably be more interested in that then Lai Lai Hei and DarkViVi, but it's worth a check out.

Also, I've made a summary on SH2 monsters and what they represent. Just like I promised!! When you dudes finish the game, check this out, you might be surprised. There's also a lot of storyline spoilers in this. I thought I'd add in moe of a summary on the storylines, since last time was mostly characters and their pasts and emotions.

Spoiler:
SH2 is based on a young man who has lost his wife Mary. It's not really a complicated situation, right? His wife is a dead, and he's feeling shitty, like every widow would. At some point, after she died, he has a pyschotic break, in which his mind begins to somewhat "lie" to him. He believes Mary died three years ago from a long suffered fatal illness (one which is never named in the game.) James is confused, but all along knows that he was the one who killed her... he smothered her with a pillow -- it was not in fact three years ago, but more like three weeks ago! James doesn't realise this until deeper into the mystery, and as he uncovers the truth of what his mind had seemingly blocked off, he suffers even moreso.

James enters Silent Hill after receiving a letter from Mary, telling him to meet her in their special place in Silent Hill. James, reluctant at first, wonders how the hell a dead person can send a letter. In any case, he hurries to Silent Hill, in hopes that his beloved wife is still alive.

This is all easy enough, yeah?

What you discover through the game, is all of these secrets to which slot into the puzzle of the game.

One of the most interesting parts of the game, is what things mean. I already spoke in a past post, of how Pyramid Head was James' guilt, and sexual wants from the assault he is seen taking out on "female" monsters.

There are other monsters, though, onces I feel have their own representations...

For example, there is the famous, and most found creature in the game...
Spoiler:
The walking torso. It looks like it's in a straight-jacket. I personally think this is an object of isolation and struggling to know things.

Then there are mannequins...

Spoiler:
They are bascially lower halves of two bodies, stuck on top of one another. Pyramid Head is seen raping these. I think that this is bought on by James' sexual side. Mainly mannequins are naked, the lower halves of them female (there's no penis and that's fricking obvious. )

Of course, we get to an interesting part.

Spoiler:
The nurses. Covered faces. Mini skirts. Cleavage showing. Who's with me, here? An obvious answer to this one. The nurses, although there for a different reason in SH1, seem to have more meaning in this one. Not only do they fit the hospital scene, but they can also be looked at as another sexual factor in the game. A graphic designer on the SH Konami squad even mentioned something similar to the nurses being a sexual factor.

Personally, I hate the nurses. Not only do they carry powerful weapons that can easy whack you to death, but they're so freakin' hard to kill. Five or more bullets for one of these things? Hmm.

I will check them out once I've finished, I can discuss the first SH though.

Anyway I am working on my website and posted my review from here, when I complete them I am also going to write a review for all of them. Anyway will probably do a complete site dedicated to the Series later on but for now I will just be writing reviews.
