Seymour Flux

This boss is probably one of the most annoying for me
recently i've been playing FFX again, getting used to the advanced sphere grid anyway and im up to Seymour Flux (hes in Mt.Gagazet and he uses "lance of atrophy" to zombify a character then casts full life which is a K.O)
and yes ive tried casting reflect, to repel his full life even if im zombified but he casts dispel, ive tried using Zombie ward armour but he still zombifys most of the time and his cross cleave move is...quite powerful

on my first time i finished the game with all the aeons etc. etc. i killed him easily on my 2nd try, but for some reason i cant now

any suggestions or tactics?

Ok dude im pretty sure there is already a Seymour Flux help thread here.

But a few things you have need to do before fighting seymour flux.

Been actually training the whole game.
And know what your doing,

In this boss battle aeons are a stupid idea,the just get killed

I beat him first go both times i've clocked the game and i figured this is how.

Have your 3 strongest hitters in your party, dont worry about magic.
By this time you should have Hastega, and if you dont then your not strong enough, haste up your party, then use aurons banishing blade to get any breaks you can, have soemone use a poison fang. and then he will go. my advise to to have a "auto phenoix" attached to your armour on one character.

On your next set of turns, if anyone died use haste on them and just continue to attack seymour (not the motribody) and he will get really low in health, dint worry about lance of atrophy, if you have an auto phenoix shield, now what you must do is brace yourself for TOTAL ANNIHILIATION, for that if you are able summo an aeon, if not hope you survive have all protective spells cast, and is you have them auto life. if you surivive he will drop quiet quickly after total annihilation.


Another way is if you previously had another game with all the AL Bhed primers, on the way to Bevelle you talk to rin, if you have all the primers you can get 99 underdog secrets.

when you get to fight seymour have any 2 members and rikku (with her overdrive) and fight seymour If Rikku is the quickest use her overdrive and Mix 1x Lv3 key sphere (dont worry you'll get more) and 1x underdog secret. this will unleash the move trio of 9999 on your party, now have hatega cast and then just plummel away and he will be gone on no time at all

He was SO hard until I found out to use Protect... >_>

I didn't find him all that hard, I just used Hastega and crazy amounts of protecting/healing magic to survive while attacking, I'll have to try your method next time Meow.
