I was always made fun of because of my handwriting. I only use cursive for signing my name. I prefer pens because they glide whereas you have to pretty much grind pencils across paper. And, Ironic enough, I write beautiful calligraphy. But no one seems to be able to read my normal writing but me. One of the main reasons I prefer to type. When ever I turned over a paper the word "chicken-scratch" is usually used by the teachers to describe it. Despite the fact that my screen-name is Sinister, I am very right-handed. I can only write, fence and open doors with my right hand. I can talk on the phone left-handed.

Everyone I know says I do, and I guess they're right, but is it worth it for the hand cramps?

Do you prefer cursive or straight-hand?
It differs. At the moment I like cursive because it's fast and looks nice, but when I want definite legibility, I like straight-hand. Always neat.

Do you like pens or pencils?
I love pens. It's much easier to keep my writing fuid while using them. Also, they look a lot nicer and are more permanent, and smudge resistant. When I use pencils, my writing begins neat (when the point is sharp) and gets sloppier as I go.

Do you do calligraphy?
Only when I want an old-school look to what I'm writing I have a few calligraphy sets, but the last time I used them was for an English assignment almost a year ago.

I'm right handed, but I'm teaching myself to be ambidextrous. It's hard. Although I can write backwards perfectly and am fairly good at writing upside down. ^^;

....no. My penmanship skills are one of very few areas I have absolutely no skill in whatsoever. I cannot write very legibly, and my writing never seems to be consistent. It always goes from one style to another fairly randomly...
I really tend to prefer the ol' keyboard and printer whenever I can get away with it.

Well I do tend to print things out nowadays. I prefer to read cursive, but yeah, I'm gonna have to go with straight-hand when describing my writing preferences.

I prefer pens myself. Pencils have a habit of fading or smudging a little making my already close to incomprehensible writing very incomprehensible. And then on top of that I prefer unique pens that can be found through some searching. Like those feather ones you dip into an inkwell. They look pretty cool. ^_^ (I even have a peacock feather one)

I don't unfortunately. Calligraphy does interest me, but alas I lack the necessary skills.

Are you left or right-handed?

I can write with both my hands. Ambidextrous you could say. That said, neither produce all that attractive an output...

Yes, I like to think so. I get complimented on my handwriting a lot since its very unique-looking and arty, however I get asked about the same amount of times "what does that say?" I used to sign my name with a smily face and write with 'hooked claws' on my some of the letters... which according to my friend's mum is how some murderers write. Safe to say i've grown out of that now!

Cursitive is my main form, with lots of loops and slightly slanted, since its quick and just seems to come naturally to me. I print when I have to give instructions though.

Do you like pens or pencils?
Biro pens. Make my handwriting look neat and are nice to draw with too. I also like fountain pens, rollerballs and fineliners (though they seem to run out of ink quickly). Pencils I prefer to draw with, as Celtic says they smudge. Damn you Celtic- you always beat me to whatever I say!

Do you do calligraphy?
I had an interest in it a few year ago, but never really got into it, so nope.

Are you left or right-handed?
I'm a severe rightie. Nobody can read anything I do with my left hand.

Very much. I love them all. The right paper and pencil alone suffices to make me write. I use all kinds of stuff.

I have some peculiarities in my writing. I use to write oversized capitals and very tiny minuscules. If you look at my handwritings from afar, they resemble calligraphy, even if they aren't.

Penmanship;
It's good. Not the best, I could improve, I just don't bother to.

Cursive or straight hand;
A mixture of the two, however, I use both at different times. Like Toro, it depends mostly on my mood.

Both, I'm an artist and designer, I work with these tools everyday.

Calligraphy;
Not really expierenced, although one day I'd definately like to accquaint myself with it a little more...

Right or left handed;
Left. However, I can cut with scissors better than with my left. And I can also paint with my right, but I use my left, mainly because I have a better brush stroke with my left than my right. (And because the nerve damage in my right arm makes it a little more tough.)

I have good penmanship. People compliment me on it, but I think that I could be a little bit better.

I usually prefer to write straight-hand. I sometimes write in cursive, but I'm much better at writing in straight-hand.

I prefer to use pencils. I sometimes make mistakes while I write and I like to be able to erase and correct those mistakes. Things just look bad in pen with a bunch of words scratched out or white out all over the page.

No. It never really interested me.

I'm right-handed. I kind of wish I was ambidextrous though. I will have to work at that.

I think so. It's not that dirty and it is definitely legible. Although sometimes when I'm in a hurry, I tend to write like a frustrated doctor. On the other side of things, when I'm writing compositions, songs and essays, I take my sweet time and write naturally so that the professor wouldn't have a problem reading. xD

Pretty much straight-hand since my cursive writings look like the ink splat version of Monotype Corsiva.

Since I was born drawing, I prefer pencils, but only when I'm drawing. I use pens most of the time but I have more fun with using pencils (especially mechanical ones!).

Yes. I usually do the letterings and designs for some occasions at school. But it's easy once you get used to it. It's just a matter of precision, relaxation and breathing (yes, because breathing GREATLY affects one's concentration).

Are you left or right-handed?
I'm ambidextrous. I write with my left hand and I draw with my left (and vice versa). But I think that using the left hand should be practiced because it uses most of the right brain, which is all logic and such.

My handwriting is terrible.

I write with pens exclusively.

When I'm awake and paying attention, right-slanted itallic handwriting. 75% illegible.

When I'm bored, it goes half-pictorial half-left slant. 99% illegible to other humans.

If I'm almost asleep, it transforms. Straight up, really big, rounded handwriting. With some pictures. 100% illegible, even to me.

Calligraphy? Me? ****.

But hey, you should see my typing in Word. Now that's some neatness. Sylfaen 12-point, baby. We rock it old school.

I have pretty good penmanship, though because I can write so small it can make it difficult to read at times. I have a rather unique way of writing, especially lately. But I watch people in college write compared to me and I'm extremely conversative when I write. When one person will spend two pages on a day lecture of like 3 hours I will barely break a third of a page on a quarter the size paper. I will literally write small enough to fit two or three lines of text into a college rule length paper. Which makes it nearly impossible for anyone but me to read. I can write larger if I wanted, but I like writing small. So it can be quite difficult to read.

I learned to write cursive in first grade, self taught. So I never got too heavily into writing cursive as I already knew how to write it. By late elementary early middle school I had developed the writing style that I pretty still use. Which is a cursive print combo hybrid. It is heavily print with cursive influence that is not completely one or the other exclusively.

As for pen or pencil, I hate pens. I can't stand writing with them because I'll make a mistake and its permanent. People will just say don't make a mistake or cross it out, but I don't want to cross something out. It looks terrible and messy to do something like that. And I can't use erasable pens because they smudge. So I still completely to pencils unless I'm writing a check or paying bills or writing my signature.

And no I don't do any calligraphy, maybe in the future. But I'm left handed unlike most of the here apparently. Which is the reason why I can't use erasable pens, as I smudge it all over the paper and looks even worse than pen. Being left handed has its disadvantages since it is right handed written language so I get terrible lead smudges. But when I'm writing notes I'll jump around a lot. And lately I'm using a large 8 by 11 notepad, and I just work from right to left instead. It limit the smudging. I'd actually probably do good with traditional written Japanese since they are right to left readers.

Because of my shakes I am quite a slow writer which can really take a toll on things such as exams. I am fairly tidy which is possibly partly why I am so slow but its never flawless or anything. When I write it's a mixture of both cursive and straight hand depending on the letters for example letters like: l f g y s d e and the like I will write cursive because it flow's easier where as the rest I just type straight or what ever is easier for me. Normally throughout School I used a Pen because pretty much everybody did and it looked better, I had one of those 4 way pens so I'd normally write in Black (where as most used Blue, I dunno what most do), and green for markings and so forth. I honestly try to type when I can because I am so much faster with my shakes. I've never really tried calligraphy or what ever that is, also I am weird with my hands; I write with my right hand but things like using cutlery, playing the guitar or whatever I am left handed. I think its because I trained myself that way more than being natural.
